Tucked away on the bustling Soho Road in Birmingham, Wah Ji Wah Street Food offers a delightful escape into the world of authentic Indian street cuisine. The moment you step in, the vibrant atmosphere transports you to a typical dhaba in India, complete with a cozy cot to lounge on, adding to the authentic experience. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Pani Puri, a popular Indian street snack. Each puri is a burst of tangy and spicy flavors, perfectly balanced to tantalize the taste buds. The delicate shells are filled with a zesty mixture of tamarind water, chickpeas, and potatoes, making each bite a delightful explosion of flavors. Complementing the Pani Puri are the momos, a type of South Asian dumpling that has found a loving home in Indian street food culture. At Wah Ji Wah, they are served steaming hot, with a filling that’s moist and flavorful, encased in a wrapper that’s just the right thickness to hold the juices in without being too doughy. The service at Wah Ji Wah is warm and welcoming, with staff who are eager to share their love for food. They ensure that every dish served is not just a meal, but an experience to remember. Overall, Wah Ji Wah Street Food is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in the true flavors of Indian street food. It’s a place where food and culture intertwine, offering a dining experience that’s both delicious and memorable. Whether you’re there to catch up with friends over a plate of Pani Puri or to unwind on the dhaba-style cot, Wah Ji Wah promises an experience that’s as comforting as it...

Went there first time and it was last time. Went with kids to sit and eat but it was smelling so bad in seating area that we could not even sit there for one minute. Decided to order and take home. We ordered same 6 burgers so that they don’t have to cook everything separately to save time as I had to reach somewhere after this. Asked guy how long it’s gonna take and he said just wait 10 minutes. Stood outside in light rain as could not sit inside due to smell. Also want to tell we ordered one portion of golgappa with this order. We waited waited and waited after 25 minutes I asked how log it’s gonna take as it was difficult to stand there due to bad smell and he said it’s nearly ready. Waited another 10 minutes and then we received our burgers but golgappas were missing. When asked about it he said “ oh golgappas are always ready and will be ready in one minute. Waited another 10 minutes and no sign of them. Asked again and he said again “ oh golgappas are ready just packing “ another 10 minutes and no sign of them so had to cancel that and leave without it as it took nearly 50 minutes and I had to leave. Ate burgers at home and to be honest they were ok. Not as tasty as expected according to expensive price. Won’t ever go back again or recommend anyone. That guy on till should not have told us a lie and should have given us a more accurate...

Disappointed First Visit !

I felt the female staff prioritised the customer orders, in her own (selfish) way,

Or to be specific, how she first served customers with headgears or those speaking her own language,

Anyway, i have been planning to visit for some time, and on my first visit, last Wednesday afternoon,

I arrived to an empty restaurant,

While i was seated on one of the tables, she came and took my order, and i requested chai instead of soft drink, she said it will be £1 extra, i said ok,

While she was taking my order to the kitchen, a group of three males walked in, all a bit loud and too happy with themselves, she stopped and started taking their orders,

What happened next was, she prepared food for them first, and they kept re-ordering more, they were already halfway through their meal, and i was forgottent for maybe fifteen minutes,

Well, I had seen enough of this young female staff and the three loud customers, so i just walked out in disappointment,

And I really don't feel confident in going back to this indian street...

The atmosphere was the first impressions this shop gives but it ends there as you enter and attempt to order, it is chaotic and no system. The service is absolutely terrible and rude and you as a customer feel degraded and no value. We started to attempt to order 4 Sugar cane juices which took us almost 20 minutes to figure out where and how to get order through, upon making these four drinks for us, one of them was pinched from the staff to complete another order of theirs, where I had to wait another time for it to be completed for me. In total only for this four sugar cane juices cost £20! locally this would have cost £3 max! The food ordered later after this ordeal was just standard and would have stayed by on that if it wasn't for a bird (pigeon) feather found in one of our food items - hakka noodles! This completely put us off and after promptly reporting this and leaving and having another fairly rude discussion regarding this, we found that this food was prepared from a previous day! Bottom line:- Nah Ji Nah

Last week, we had the pleasure of dining at this remarkable establishment. It was an authentic Punjabi experience, from the ambiance to the environment. The background Punjabi music added to the overall delightful experience. The food itself was exceptional, especially the Momos, which were tender, filled with delicious vegetables, and accompanied by a red chili sauce that was irresistibly tasty. We also sampled the radi-style noodles and the tikki burger, which were, without exaggeration, the best we've tasted in the UK. The entire staff, from the chefs to the servers, were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. We were so impressed by our experience that we've decided to make this our exclusive dining spot in Birmingham's Soho Road. I cannot recommend this place enough.
