I recently made the journey all the way from Newcastle to Birmingham just to try the famous Chapli Kababs at "Taste of Khyber", and I must say, it was worth every mile! From the moment I walked in, the warm smiles and welcoming attitude of the staff made me feel right at home.

The Chapli Kabab was nothing short of perfection—juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly the way it’s made in Pakistan. For those who don’t know, Chapli Kabab is a Pashtun specialty originating from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, made with minced meat (usually beef or lamb), crushed coriander seeds, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and a blend of aromatic spices like cumin, garam masala, and dried pomegranate seeds. What sets it apart is its slightly crispy exterior while remaining tender inside, and the one at Taste of Khyber nailed it!

The management and chef deserve special praise for maintaining such authentic flavors—it truly felt like a bite straight from the streets of Peshawar. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and always ready to help.

I will definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for real Pakistani cuisine, and I can’t wait to come back to try more of their delicious dishes. Thank you, Taste of Khyber, for an unforgettable meal!

Highly recommended...

First time here and NEVER AGAIN! This restaurant was recommended to me by someone I know, which makes it worse. There is a separate area for ladies/families which is good. There are separate toilets for men/women and were in a surprisingly good state. Staff cannot speak English very well but they should ask which language the diner speaks as to find common ground. The food itself was fairly tasty but not flavoursome enough for me and somewhat bland. No complimentary water that is often found in most restaurants. Mixed grill had seekh kebabs that were similar to supermarket frozen versions. The fries were decent and a big portion. The mixed grill portion was small considering price. The food was very average like it was prepared by a college kid on a food preparation course. We ordered a lamb charsi karahi and sat there for almost 30 minutes. I got up and asked the waiter and he said it is ready by the till. He ridiculously advised that he thought we wanted it as a takeaway! Not once was I informed that it was ready. I complained and the guy on the till advised he was sorry and refused to admit fault and confirmed that it will be better next time. He only said sorry when I said that there definitely WON'T BE A NEXT TIME! PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND ESPECIALLY TIME WITH THESE AMATEURS! If I could give zero...

Taste of Khyber truly sets the standard for Peshawari Chapli Kebab in an extraordinary way. Their Chapli Kebab is not just a dish, but a culinary masterpiece, reflecting the rich flavors and traditions of Peshawar. The kebabs are perfectly seasoned, with a harmonious blend of spices that tantalize the taste buds while maintaining an authentic, robust flavor. The texture is impeccable – juicy and tender on the inside with a delightfully crisp exterior, embodying the true essence of a traditional Chapli Kebab. The cooking technique they employ is evidently mastered, as each kebab is consistently cooked to perfection.

The ambiance of the restaurant adds to the overall experience, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that mirrors the hospitable spirit of Peshawar. The staff at Taste of Khyber are not only friendly but also passionate about their cuisine, enhancing the dining experience with their knowledge and enthusiasm.

In summary, Taste of Khyber is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Peshawari Chapli Kebab. Their dedication to quality and authenticity makes them unparalleled in this culinary art. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that transports you to the heart of Peshawar...

Taste of Khyber serves delicious food that reminds us of the authentic flavors of Pakistan. Every second week we travel 2 hours to eat here. Special thanks to Uzair Bhai for his excellent service and humble behavior that we really appreciate , his caring service makes our dining experience even better one more thing Uzair bhai makes really good milk tea that you will never forget . The person who takes orders on the phone deserves credit for conveying instructions accurately to the chefs. Speaking of chefs, their tasty creations often transport us back to the flavors of Pakistan. One small suggestion would be to consider for chefs for making the biryani less Spicy , as it's become too intense and spicy in the past few weeks. Biryani was too good few weeks back but now it is not suitable for most of people who eat medium spicy food Overall, a great place with fantastic Charsi Karahi soft large naan and athentic Sajji and tikkas that we use to eat in Pakistan 🇵🇰 just a minor tweak for those sensitive to spice levels.Making less spicy Biryani would be appreciated as it was the only place where i could eat tasty Biryani

Authentic vibe and food of afghan. Halal. The food is mouth watering. Everything we tried was bang on. My dad enjoyed it the most and he has ranked this place at the top and he has been to few restaurants in UK. I recommend their chapli kebab, lamb charsi karahi, chicken deghi and naan. For drinks the afghani dookh is the one to go for that adds great contrast to the rich food. I must warn that their food tends to be quite oily so what we did was remove the oil and only served the gravy and meat. I honestly ate more than I normally can which just goes to show how great the food is. Customer service is also great and food was served in 10min so pretty quick. Prices are competitive which is great and there is plenty of seating. I estimated over 80 people can be accommodated at a time. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We will definitely be visiting again and try their grill menu so stay tuned for more updates. If you found this review helpful then a like would be greatly appreciated.
