My son went to Rock Charcoal Grill today and placed a simple, clear order: a full chicken meal, a half chicken meal, and an extra naan. To avoid any confusion, he repeated the order twice to both employees. Despite this, they handed him an order that was completely wrong—2 naans, 1 small salad, and 1 portion of chips. Not only did they fail to provide what we paid for, which included extra naan, an extra salad, and an additional portion of chips, but when confronted about it, they chose to lie to him rather than take responsibility.

When he came home and told me, I was furious. I drove 15 minutes to the restaurant to confront them personally. As soon as I arrived, their attitude completely changed—they became overly compliant and rushed to offer a replacement. This sudden shift in behavior left me suspicious. They gave us the replacement meal, but the food was soggy at the bottom of the box, raising serious concerns about its quality and hygiene. To make matters worse, the salad they provided was laughable—barely half a handful, more fitting for a child than an adult meal. It felt like they weren’t even trying to offer a proper portion.

Frankly, I’m left questioning whether the replacement meal was tampered with, given how unnervingly cooperative they became after seeing me. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The combination of dishonesty, incompetence, and lack of respect for paying customers is absolutely appalling. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place—there are far better options where you won’t have to deal with this kind...

This place is extremely untrustworthy. They refuse to accept card payments, forcing customers to waste time searching for cash—a suspicious practice that makes me wonder if they’re avoiding taxes. I personally wasted over an hour driving from Bordesley Green, stuck in traffic and struggling with broken ATMs, just to accommodate their outdated and inconvenient policy. On top of that, their staff were rude, smirking and exchanging odd looks while speaking in a language I couldn’t understand, which felt disrespectful.

To make matters worse, one of their chickens was undercooked with red meat in the middle—completely unsafe and unacceptable. This shows a shocking lack of care for food safety and customer wellbeing. I wouldn’t recommend this...

I went Thursday and bought food around 11pm and ordered 1 grill chicken and naan and paie curry to take out . The chicken was uncooked the staff didn't have a clue what they were doing I didn't see any of the old staff. The paie, we warmed them up at home and it was pure water and oil, flavourless. Used to go to this place alot but after this experience I don't think I want to go back!
