Unik Burgers — Restaurant in Birmingham

Hello All, this is a review of the newly refurbished and opened again Unik Burgers on Stratford Road. First impressions of the place is warm clean and good seating for people to sit down. Friendly staff good service from them considering they where really busy due to the opening day offer of 50% off all of the menu. Now to the disappointing points first things first if you are opening with a offer of 50% off please take into account you will be busy and plan ahead I ordered their chicken supreme burger in a burche bun cheese and salad and dashing of Algerian sauce what I got after 2 hours, yes 2 hours for my order to ready which by then I was hungry and mean hungry I was expecting something amazing considering one meal cost £8.49 which I brought two one for and the wife so both meals for £8.49 otherwise they would have cost £16.98 and this was double grilled chicken. So OK the burger was just average nothing special after waiting 2 hours really disappointed, the salad was just the cheap one you get put on from any chip shop. If you are charing a premium price at least use quality ingredients the dash of algerain sauce was drowned on the burger all you could taste was that, if I wanted to eat sauce I would just got a bottle from the supermarket. The only good thing about the burger was the chicken was cooked good not dry but tender but had very little flavour to it could hardly taste the chicken from the sauce. The fries where good quality better than most places but still nothing special. And as for a giving a good quality beverage with the meal you guessed it the normal cheap drinks from the cash and carry of 7up,pepsi,orange tango unbelievable but then they offered me a 7up moihto which was OK. They did not give any decent sauce with the meal just more packets of you guessed it Algerian sauce, I think they spent more money on the package then then they did on the quality of the food. Typical Saturday night the fridge full of the weekdays meals and my stomach rumbling for something delectable to satisfy my hunger. I carelessly scroll through just eat looking at the standard pepes,kfc and dixy ; establishments that have always disappointed. Thankfully I stumbled upon Unik Burger with their mouth watering selection of burgers and their high customer satisfaction i knew you this was the one to satisfy my tongue. I ordered a large fries and a double smash burger with drink and arrived so fast and fresh it was as if I ordered in store ( I live 4-5 miles away) . Opening the bag a gush of flavoursome air surged out and when I took that first bite it instantly fell in love as the juices from the patty oozed out and crawled into the crevasses of my taste buds as the soft bun bounced against the top of my bun and the crunch of the salad combined flawlessly with the juicy patties made me awestruck. The chips so fresh and crispy with their signature sauces my mind couldn’t comprehend the flavours that I was tasting. I’m a guy that likes to eat I usally go with my mates around town and indulge in flavoursome meals but Unik Burger tops them all. I have been a customer at Unik burgers for a very long and felt I have to leave a long awaited honest review. Unik Burgers was absolutely amazing and too die for when they were on Formans Road. You had a number of people working out of a small premises. It was always busy and very clean, the atmosphere was amazing and the staff who I believe were French; were always polite, friendly and always smiling.

Some time during 2019/2020 they moved to Stratford Road which is a larger premises and things slowly changed. It seemed like Unik burgers partnership by was purchased by asians and the staff changed, this I believe was/is the issue. The atmosphere changed after a while, the politeness and smiles all changed. While the original owner is or was still working there; slowly all the french guys disappeared. Once that happened the quality of food has dipped significantly, service is your typical rubbish asian service, smiles gone, experience gone... What is left? Half tasty food, bigger restaurant which looks better than the smaller premises, young lads with no service experience, squashed burgers... The only reason I have left a 2 star review is because these guys or should I say the previous guys where amazing but since then it has seriously gone downhill.

I wish I could buy the restaurant and bring back the old team to create the quality and...
