Walmley Golf Club — Restaurant in Birmingham

We were here early January for my MIL's funeral wake held in the upstairs function room. We were all extremely impressed with the location. Quality of the recent refurbishment. The room provided ample seating at round dining tables all with fabulous views across the golf course. The staff were fabulous and super courteous and helpful especially with the large elderly guests. The facilities included our own bar, toilets and lift access. The catering was on point and all of the guests were very complimentary. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the golf facilities as I don't play but as a private hire venue it rates very highly and they certainly picked up a "load" of recommendations. What a place.First of all the welcome from Steve Carter the pro was exeptional. Thank you Steve it was much appreciated. He paired me up with 2 long standing members John and Martin who showed me the way round.Again thank you lads for being so welcoming and hospitable. What an awesome course! Played on a society day and have to say the staff were freindly and welcoming and really looked after us. As for the course.... Well simply stunning. My opinion was that there are 2 different loops of 9 with the front time being a refreshing change of having to play tactically off the tee rather than smash drive after drive. Back 9 brought the driver out a little more but the shaping of the holes makes you still think about your shots. Greens were great and pretty quick but not ridiculously quick.
