I really enjoyed this wonderful Moroccan restaurant. Each traditional tagine dish was delicious, the meat perfectly soft and moist. It melted in my mouth. This was the first Moroccan restaurant I have ever been too, and to be honest I was quite nervous about the whole new experience, but I needn’t have been. The starter me and my girlfriend ordered was completely vegetarian (usually not something I’d enjoy) and yet I enjoyed it immensely. Everyone in my group of five people agreed that their dish was excellent quality and no one had a single complaint about any part of the meal. I also felt that the food itself was very reasonably priced.

Whilst I myself didn’t get a desert, everyone else did and no one was disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If I was to find a criticism (and I am determined to do so) then it would be that they did not serve alcohol, however I am told that this is the tradition in Morocco as it is a Muslim country and therefore “dry”. Instead me and my girlfriend went to the nearby off-licence to buy some red wine and larger to have with our meal and the staff here instantly provided us with a bottle opener no questions asked. If anything then not serving alcohol just saved us a lot of money, as had we bought a bottle of wine from a regular restaurant it would surely have cost well over twice the price we paid for it. And so even my very minor critique is in fact, upon reflection, a money saving bonus.

I shall be finding a Moroccan restaurant in Newcastle once we return home, and I do hope it is as good as here. Do bring your own alcohol if you wish to have some with your meal; but I assure you that you shall enjoy your dinner here. Highly...

A large party of around 20 on a work do went out, we were asked to preorder from a menu online. The prices in the restaurant itself were higher. There were still delays in bringing out some food for people. The waiting staff were sweet and friendly. Unfortunately there was a mistake totaling our bill which they only identified after most of us had paid and left. The manager angrily demanded that we pay an extra £40 - he was so rude to me even tho it was his staff who made the mistake, he made no apology or acknowledgment that this was inconvenient, I wouldnt cheat anyone and of course was willing to the pay the extra. When I challenged him about his attitude he said he hadn't been rude, and appeared much happier once he had the money on his pocket.

It was a bad end to what would have been a really nice evening. I wouldn't expect anyone to be so rude especially when a group had providing over £500 of business to you. All local as well. I will not be returning. I would still...

We had a terrible experience here last Saturday (02/07) which is a shame as I had heard good things. I rang in advance to make a booking for 3 people for 745pm which they said would be fine. On arriving at the restaurant they gave us a table for 6 people as they didn’t have any smaller tables. 15 mins into the service (our drinks had arrived but the food was yet to come) they told us that a group of 6 had arrived and asked us to move to a table which was for 2 people. We told them we’d be happy to move but to a table for 3 as the 2 person table was tiny. We had refused but they kept forcing us to move to the 2 person table, at points being rude. Eventually they asked us to leave the restaurant if we were not willing to move to the 2 person table. This is appalling behaviour from an established restaurant to be honest - we were left hungry with no reservations on a Saturday evening. This restaurant books above capacity and should be avoided...

We are a Franco-Algerian family, very familiar with Maghreb cuisine. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the welcome was warm, though prices are on the high side. The couscous and tagine were both very tasty, even if serving a tagine without proper bread (just a stale flatbread for £1.35) was disappointing. The real letdown was dessert: what was supposed to be a roasted pear tart with honey turned out to be an overcooked yogurt cake with a pear slice on top, plus four tiny orange biscuits instead of the Moroccan pastry assortment. Great flavors overall, but the dessert really spoiled the experience.

Another place recommended to me by friends. Easy to book and although early we were greeted by staff and shown to our table. The menu is amazing and I literally wanted to eat everything on there. For starters we had Mussels and calamari which were well cooked and very flavoursome. Houmous, obviously home made and beautiful. Sardines, well cooked but I would have liked a little more spice. Mains We had three different tagines and the vegetarian cous cous. All beautiful. This place is highly recommended.
