Forbidden Desserts — Restaurant in Bolton

Ordered some waffles from the website with a wait time of 70 minutes. Almost two hours later I phoned to ask if they were on their way. Unprofessionally answered with music blasting in the background, I was told they didn’t have my order. Then I was told they didn’t deliver to my postcode (I’ve ordered 4x previously) and then asked if I definitely ordered from forbidden desserts. I confirmed I did, explained I have a confirmation email and the funds are pending from my bank account, and I’ve had no issues with delivery previously. The woman said she needed to speak to the owner as my order may have gone directly to her? And she’ll call me back in a few minutes. Ten mins later, no call, so I phoned back and my order has now magically appeared. Apparently when you order on their website there’s a two hour delay in them receiving this, despite getting a notification to say they’d received my order, but okay. I asked how long it’ll be and she sounded disinterested stating they have another order to deal with so 30 mins. I cancelled and asked for a refund.

I didn’t receive the refund and when I messaged the owner two days later she asked why I was requesting a refund and why didn’t I receive my order! When I explained she ignored my messages and kept my money.

I wouldn’t have done a review but I don’t appreciate being ignored when asking for my money back. Very rude, disappointing, and I won’t order again...

I recently placed an order for three scoops of vanilla ice cream but received three small tubs that were only partially filled, with what appeared to be half scoops. Additionally, I ordered a cheesecake, which was served in a small tub rather than as a slice. Unfortunately, the texture was more custard-like, with a runny top, and it was overly sweet.

I called to provide feedback and spoke with a staff member who kindly apologised but did not offer a refund or partial compensation. While I appreciate the apology, I wanted to bring this to your attention as feedback for future improvements.

I would appreciate it if you could ensure that the ice cream portions match a full scoop and that the tubs are properly filled.

We ordered food from Forbidden Desert for my mum’s birthday and it was absolutely fantastic! Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully cooked. The curry was rich and full of flavour, the rice perfectly fluffy, and the fajitas were a big hit with everyone. The pasties were also delicious and went down really well. The variety meant there was something for everyone, and you could tell a lot of care had gone into the cooking. It made the celebration feel really special and 10 times better as delivery was easy and smooth and we’ll definitely be ordering again.
