We spent a couple of days in Lytham and had lovely coffee, and then went back for lunch. My Mum said the Quiche was beautiful..the best and I had some soup and a roll. We then treated ourselves with ice cream which is just delicious. The staff are wonderful and it's in a beautiful spot. The only let down was a customer that decided to sit down and eat with a child and the yuppies, loudest dog you have ever had. She had no control over it and didn't particularly try that hard to make it stop. For some reason she had the staff brushing up leaves that were under her table(as if they were the reason for the dogs behaviour??) It completely spoiled the experience and we left with a headache. Customers were not happy and there raised eyebrows etc. I understand that some dogs are noisier or harder to handle than others. I have one...which is why I know I wouldn't have made a cafe full of customers suffer. They could have walked with their ice cream. I believe they should've known to leave if they had felt any empathy towards everyone else, but no, selfish and totally oblivious to everyone else's happiness. Anyway..just felt the need to share..other than that I would definitely return to the cafe as long as that woman wasn't sat there with her...
Read moreVisited this Amazing Cafe today 13 June for lunch after being recommended by another local business (who sold shoes, watches, jewellery, clothes etc) when I asked the gentleman if he could recomend somewhere nice for lunch he gave us suggestions. We arrived at Chells and received a warm, pleasant, friendly welcome from a nice gentleman who said that we could sit where ever we would like to. I ordered fish, chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. My friend had pan fried Salmon but instead of new potatoes and veg she asked if she could have salad. This was no problem. The food was cooked fresh to order, served in a timely manner, was hot, cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The young lady waitress and young gentleman waiter were both pleasant and efficient. If you want good quality food, cooked to perfection, at a reasonable price, served by friendly efficient staff, then Chells is the place to visit. Would recomend and...
Read moreArrived at Chells after cycling from Southport. We were a party of 3 and sat outside in the autumn sun. In order to look after the bikes we decided to go in and order one at a time. I ordered from the breakfast menu. A bacon roll and a coffee. My friend then entered the shop around 1 min after myself and tried to place the exact same order to be told that he couldn't order anything from the breakfast menu as it had closed. Even though she could see we were all together. Frankly unbelievable. Add to this that the service left alot to be desired. A table of pensioners had to make do with a wrong coffee order as did we. Coffees took at least 15 mins to arrive and then we were asked for another 2 pound 20 pence even though we had paid for the coffees as we ordered them. Not good at all and we will not...
