Be careful if you have allergies at this place!
I'm not one to leave a negative review but l feel in this instance we need to look out for people with allergies.
When we were ordering we made our server aware that my partner had an allergy to cashew and pistachio (we carry epi pens wherever we go). This was all fine and I believe the server checked our starters and mains for these nuts.
The issue came when we ordered the tiramisu. We each had a bite and my partner asked me if these were nuts when he noticed a crumble hade been sprinkled all over the plate and dessert. We then checked with a different server and were then told it was garnished with almonds and pistachio (it was fine crumble so not very noticeable and dark inside the restaurant). We reiterated that he had an allergy and she nervously laughed and asked us if we wanted her to take it away. We then let her know the seriousness of what had happened and again she nervously laughed and said she would let someone know.
We pulled over the server who was assigned to us and who we had let know about the allergy. He said the tiramisu didn't have any nuts in it, we explained it had nuts sprinkled all over it and he went to the kitchen.
Honestly had he come back and said 'sorry, this is unacceptable", we would have felt a little better about their handling of the situation and not asked for a discount.
However, he came back, apologised and then started going on about how it wasn't his fault. He then put the full bill down in front of us for payment. The discount we requested, covered the price of the Loratadine and mouth wash, we then had to buy, due to their carelessness.
There needs to be a better system in place as I am now panicking on the evening of our...
Read moreHad a day shopping in Lytham thought we would take a break in this restaurant and have a bite to eat. The outside and interior looked nice and we was very impressed by the look and thought this would be a nice place to eat, unfortunately, this was not the case. We ordered 2 meals one being ravioli and one being what we thought was a mushroom pasta dish. When the food arrived we were so shocked we couldn’t speak with what we were served. we thought we had been served starters. My partners dish looked nothing like it had been described and the portion size was so small it felt insulting I received 6 pieces of ravioli yes I repeat 6 pieces. £13.50 for 6 pieces of ravioli! I requested to see the menu from the waitress to double check at which point she asked if there was an issue, I replied that there was and expressed my shock at the price and portion size her attitude and demeanour immediately shifted to flippant and dismissive and referred us to the manager who, to his credit, was extremely polite and professional, we explained the situation and he offered a discount which we refused, we replied we were willing to pay for our drinks, he replied “don’t be silly, you are my guest” We finished our drinks and left, not disappointed. Shocked.
I cannot fault the restaurant or their presentation, but if you are looking for value, take your...
Read moreDon’t go as a party of 2. The tables have been cramped in, there isn’t enough space for people to walk between them. Throughout our meal we were constantly interrupted by people trying to squeeze sideways through the gap between the tables and even then they were knocking stuff on our table. Conversations become a bit of a battle with the tables either side because everyone is talking louder to be heard over the tables next to them.
The larger tables (4+) looked to have more space around them and would allow you to have an enjoyable meal uninterrupted.
I’d also suggest keeping hold of your coat. They’ll offer to take it off you when you come in because it’s so cramped in there. When you’re finished, you’ll be taken to a tiny cloakroom barely big enough for the staff’s coats, where you’ll have to dig yours out from the bottom after they’ve piled loads of other costs on top. This was made worse by them clearly overbooking as there were quite a few people who had to wait by the bar, which meant more coats...
