The Zen Restaurant — Restaurant in Borough of Fylde

The Zen has always been one of our favourite restaurants we have been going for a few years. We have recommended this restraunt to lots of friends and family absolutely loved it. We went 3 weeks ago and wow what a disappointment, we always have the banquet we compared the pictures tp our last visit, the soup was half full and watery, the starter platter the chicken has shrunk, the mains the prawns are not as big as they used to be and the rice used to come with nuts raisins etc and this time it came plain in a small bowl. We left still hungry. I understand everything has risen in price but maybe put your price up rather than reduce the quality. I asked the waitress and she said we should of told them what rice we wanted...why would we when it's always been the same.

Over priced and shocking sized portions, avoid if your hungry. Ordered chicken curry came in half full tray, same for crispy chilli beef, regular chips were in bag size of small pic n mix, same for salt n pepper chips. Fried rice was in small container. If you are like me and can guarantee finishing off your wives portion and still having some of yours for breakfast in the morning you have no chance with this take away. This is nothing more than pensioners portions or appetiser portions in the guise as main courses. As for the food, in fairness it was good but will never be ordering from here again. Plenty of other local takeaways better value for money with standard hearty Chinese portions. Photo is curry, fried...

Absolutely awesome restaurant. On arrival they couldn't do enough for myself my wife and very young son, they supplied is with a great table to accommodate the pram then brought out a very child friendly seat. The staff were great with him keeping him occupied as we are our beautifully prepared food. The soup was great, the dim sum amazing and unfortunately come the main course or soon kicked off so we decided to get it to go which was no problem to the staff.

The restaurant is clean, tidy and really lovely with lots of beautiful flowers and Oriental items. I can't race enough about this restaurant and would even go as far as to say "best Chinese ribs I've ever tasted".

I'll happily drive from Glasgow...
