I recently celebrated my son's birthday at Spicy Tadka (Staines branch), and it was a superb experience from start to finish! The ambience was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that perfectly complemented the rich cultural heritage of India.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive, and friendly, and went out of their way to ensure our celebration was special.
The highlight of the party was undoubtedly the food. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavours and cooked to perfection. The appetizers were delightful, with the noodles and chilli paneer being particular standouts. For the main course, we enjoyed a variety of dishes including dal makhani, paneer butter masala and punjabi chole. Each dish was seasoned exquisitely.
The naan was freshly baked and paired wonderfully with the rich and creamy sauces. To top it off, the dessert selection was heavenly. The gulab jamun and fruit custard provided the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.
One of the standout aspects of our event was the owner (Gagan Joshi), who was incredibly good and humble. He came to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. His genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel like valued guests and added a personal touch that made the evening even more special.
Moreover, the restaurant's ambience was cosy and authentic, transporting us to India with its traditional decor and soothing music. The attention to detail in every aspect of our dining experience was remarkable.
Overall, Spicy Tadka exceeded all my expectations and made our birthday celebration truly memorable. The combination of exceptional food, outstanding service, the owner's humble demeanour, and the authentic ambience created an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Indian dining experience with exceptional service. We will definitely be...
Read moreI recently dined at spicy Tadka and had high hopes for a delightful experience, but it fell a bit short.
We ordered the lamb biryani and the lamb curry, and unfortunately, neither dish impressed me. Starting with the lamb biryani, it was clear that the meat and rice had been cooked separately. A good biryani should marry the flavors of both, but this version didn’t have that cohesive taste. Instead, it felt disjointed, lacking that rich, blended flavor that makes biryani so special.
As for the lamb curry, the meat was indeed tender and well-cooked. However, the overall curry didn’t hit the mark. It seemed as though the lamb and the gravy had also been prepared separately, which is a missed opportunity to create a flavorful melding of tastes. It did appear that the lamb used in both dishes shared a similar marinade, which left me wondering about the kitchen’s approach to cooking.
We specifically asked for the lamb curry to be on the spicier side, but it arrived quite mild, lacking the kick we were hoping for. I believe that when you ask for spice, restaurants should be eager to accommodate.
On a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The decor, featuring various hand-painted artworks representing different places in India, added a nice touch and created an inviting ambiance.
Overall, while I appreciated the atmosphere and the service, I was disappointed with the food. I hope they can refine their recipes for a more authentic and flavorful experience. I would be willing to give it another try, but I would hope for some improvements in...
