Most of my experiances of a wetherspoon pub have been good. But today I think I just had the worst!! We went to the George at 11 o'clock and ordered 2 breakfasts at 1106. After half an hour they hadn't arrived. My wife approached the waiter to query the time it was taking. He checked the order and said it was on its way. Two meals did arrive at the table shortly after. The wrong ones!! And to add to the error the waiter handed me a plate that was so hot it burnt my finger!! We sent the order back and waited another 10 mins and then spoke to the manager, who was quick to point out there was a half hour wait on food and we had ordered 26 mins ago. Her grasp on maths seemed limited, as was her customer service. Unlike her make up and the sullen bulldog features beneath!! We gave up waiting after an hour and went to the till for a refund and the manager was there. She turned on her heel and totally blanked us. We had our refund but no apology! All in all this manager could only manage one thing? Make a simple breakfast a most complicated and un-rewarding affair! This is one hour of my life I will never...

HORRENDOUS experience. Three of us came in at 11am Saturday morning and ordered 3 large breakfasts. The normal wait for food is under 10 mins. It was busy but after 30 minutes we asked how long it might be as we’d never waited that long before. They just said it was busy and soon. The coffee machine broke at one point too. Two breakfasts came out after 50 minutes. 50!!! We expected the third to appear imminently, but at 55 minutes I asked a passing waitress if our third breakfast was coming and mentioned how long we’d waited. Again, told soon and was given no apology. We saw other breakfasts being brought out to tables around us that had not been waiting anything like as long. We reached AN HOUR and no sign of the third breakfast so my friend went and asked for a refund as we had to leave to catch a train. Again, no apology from the manager doing the refund for the ridiculous wait for food and that one of our party left after an hour without even eating. Zero customer service skills from anybody. Still dumbfounded they couldn’t get a breakfast out...

Where to start, we use to use the George when we lived in Egham 6 years ago and it was wonderful. Visiting Friend for the weekend and decided to have breakfast at the spoon (we use the William Henry in Weymouth all the time and its as fantastic as a spoon can get) Anyway, order on the app, 15min later the drink arrive, slammed down on the table and the server left without a word, we had to call someone else as these were not or drink anyway. We finally got our drinks one was missing so had to send the guy to collect yhe full order. A further 20mins when our food arrive (it wasn't that busy) some plates had missing items, some had extra items and the baked bean we cold (I touched them as soon as they arrived) finally got all the components of our food delivered, so I asked for the manager and stated to him the issues, he wasn't the least bit interested and without a reply walked away. So would I recommend here NO Does it deserve 1 star No, but cannot give zero So will not visit the George in...

Great place for a breakfast and never ending coffee for around £6 all in. Their sausages have won awards, so it's not all generic low value food. Wetherspoons do what they do and they do it well. Their places are always clean and fresh and their food and drink are reasonably priced and pretty damn good for all of that. This particular Spoons is a pleasant enough place and with a reasonable sized upstairs. On this occasion we went for lunch on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. We found a table upstairs and used the app to order. Considering how busy they were, drinks were brought up fairly promptly and the food followed shortly afterwards and was very tasty. Their decaf coffee is the tastiest and smoothest, I have had anywhere in the world. Enjoy your visit, fairly responsibly! We had a spicy meat feast pizza £11 which was lush, 2 tasty southern fried chicken with Chipotle mayo wraps £6.50 each with an alcoholic drink and a chicken strips burger £3. The staff were great and extremely helpful.

Absolutely disgusting service, very unprofessional interaction with staff. I did not expect such poor customer service. I frequently visit this chain restaurant/pub and never have I been treated in this manner. The manager whom I expected better from did not apologise, when I expressed my disappointment with the service and poor customer experience. Following this interaction. I consulted with my colleagues to identify whether it was something we did to deem such treatment. Everything was a problem the food was delivered late. The dessert was sent before the meal even thou we asked for it later. Items from original food order arrived 20 minutes later than it should which should have been included with the main meal. Then it was just dropped on the table with out an apology and ran off.

It is very much what you would expect from a whetherspoons, the food is always a welcome relief if you've been on a heavy session, but it's not fine dining. The service can either be done through the app or at the bar, all depends on what time of day it is to how long you'll wait for your food. The beer is kept okay and the prices are always good. The atmosphere is what you would expect from somewhere with reasonable prices and the decor follows all whetherspoons. It does have some lovely history on the walls of Staines and was probably easier to read than the Staines museum. In my mind a spoons has a time and a place and this one is no different. They sell turbo shandys. As and adult I can tell you to they are a mistake
