We have been coming to this cafe since i was young and im now 39, we never usually have a problem but today was totally different, we travel from Hyde, manchester a few times a year and really enjoy the food, we came today for my mum and stepdads birthday ordered our usual which was the 3 course meal (which has gone up in price) me and my son ordered soup then beef dinner with chips and 2 Yorkshire puddings and gravy separate (i have ocd and mental health problems and can’t handle having wet things on my food, i have to pour it myself) the server at this point said we had to pay an extra 20p for the Yorkshire pudding that we had asked for and 50p to have our gravy seperate, even though we didn’t have the peas, fresh carrots or fresh cabbage that we usually have with it. I am disgusted with how the owner reacted to me (this isn’t anything to do with the money, it’s about how this woman made me feel because of having an illness that i have no control over, i wonder if they charge extras for people’s allergies or other preferences) i was told that i was being charged 50p for a jug of gravy (which you get on the dinner as standard usually) because there is only one cook in the kitchen and if they had to faff about with everyones meals it would be too much for her. It isn’t my fault there is only one cook and i was disgusted that we got a tiny jug of gravy between us and also had to pay for it. I feel penalised for having...

Cafe Royale has been part of my upbringing for 40 years as it was my mother’s before. It has always been consistently fantastic. Although I haven’t visited for several years having moved to Australia I was talking about Cafe Royale to a colleague and stumbled on these google reviews. This is a family run cafe, the menu has stayed pretty much the same since I first remembered it all those years ago even down to portion size. Everything is home cooked to a very high standard. The 3 course menu was always divine and I enjoyed every trip up to Fleetwood when I lived in Manchester.
Should I be in the Flyde Coast area again I will no doubt visit Cafe Royale.
As I said, the last two negative reviews are...
Read moreLovely fresh, high quality "home cooked" type comfort food. I called in here with friends and had the mince and onion pie with cabbage, boiled and roast potatoes with carrots, peas and a lovely rich gravy. My friends had the cheese and onion pie, and the liver and onions dinner. All of the dishes were fantastic in taste, quality and very generous in portion size. I have to say, this is the best place to go in Fleetwood if you are after a proper homely lunch or meal. The prices are very good value for money and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's now my Go- To place when I'm in Fleetwood for a lovely meal. They've been in business for over 40 years - which says it all really. Keep up the great work guys - it's an...
