Tried this as it was convenient (next to Booths carpark) and we were in the area. It looked inviting from the outside. I was a little reluctant as there were a couple of bad reviews. However, the prices seemed decent and the young staff where friendly and helpful. Fortunately, the food was pleasing. The children's food is excellent value (£5) and is a generous portion (see pics). I ordered the adult fish and chips with mushy peas. The chips were cooked just right and the fish was fresh. The peas were also the right consistency, not dry at all. Also the interia is modern and appealing. There was plenty of seating during a summer Saturday evening. Don't know if they are under new management, but based on this visit, this comes highly recommended.

Been before to eat in and was served scraps then but we went in again today and i ordered pudding chips and gravy and NO SCRAP CHIPS. They brought ot both our meals and they sneakidly put the scraps on first and then the chips on top on both our meals.Iam convinced that they do this o every diner as the table next to ours both plates had bits of shriveled chips and when i took a photo 2 of the girls behind the counter comented on the chips and said another happy customer lol?. when i went to pay i told then about the food and i was not paying for 1 lot of chips and the lad said "i dont blame you" and knocked them off the bill.. wont use again as there overpriced and you come out hungry

A brilliant find, in a lovely little market town: sparkling welcome, sparklingly clean premises - modern but not overly so, and a wide ranging traditional fish and chip menu. The shop (take away or eat in) proudly boasts to using only locally grown potatoes, locally and recently landed fish -all from sustainable sources- and even home made tartare sauce. And from the taste, which was delicious, I would concur that these factors make it one of the best fish and chip shops around.

On entering the premises we were asked to sanitise our hands . We were then shown to our table . The window sill by the table was dirty and full of dead insects . So much for sanitising our hands . The establishment is so called participating in the Governments 1/2 price scheme . The bill came to 17pounds 45p for Steak pudding ,Chips and gravy twice with one glass of pop and a black coffee . The Steak puddings were dry and one was miscoloured . i wouldn't of eaten it however the person given it said it was just dry . The bill was reduced to 8.72 at the till . A normallish price any where . The food was clearly being sold at an inflated price . I won't be going again and would not recommend the...
