Great pub! Friendly staff, laid back atmosphere. Well attended by locals and visitors. Well maintained cellar provides good quality real ale (thwaites and guests) and international draught lager. Premium Gin and cocktail menu, well priced wine selection, offers on house spirits and shot bar. Menu is not exhaustive providing effective pub favourites sometimes with a fresh twist, bar menu, sandwich menu and specials. I suspect they are only caretaker tennants and hopefully replacement tennants with enthusiasm, creativity and purpose will be identified and employed. Unfortunately, the brewery will then drive them into the ground with inflated rates and the process will begin again. It is hard to watch a vibrant market town such as Garstang have it's social heart descimated by breweries who are happy to line their pockets with the proceeds gained ultimately from selling the property which has provided thier necessary incoming for centuries. The staff were extremely rude and I overheard the landlady being extremely discourteous to a small family who had brought in ice-cream that apparently hadnt been bought there.
