Came across this family-run café on a day out to Fleetwood Market. Just across the road from the market entrance, it looked small and unassuming on the outside, but inside it was homely and inviting, with comfortable chairs and some lovely decorative plaques and pictures of bygone Fleetwood on the walls. It was also very clean. The lady who served me (Carol I believe her name is) was so cheerful, chatty and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The café is obviously a favourite with locals, who go there regularly for lunch (always a good sign!). The extensive menu (displayed under glass on the tables) includes breakfasts, sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, and good old-fashioned cooked dinners. They also do pensioners' specials. I ordered the liver and onions with potatoes and veg. It was cooked to perfection, with ample portions. Both food and plate were hot. No fewer than six different vegetables on the plate, and lovely rich gravy. The pot of tea was nice and hot. They also do a great selection of traditional puddings and ice-cream. Tried their homemade apple crumble with custard, and it was really good! Delicious strong coffee to finish. Payment was cash only. At £15.10 for the entire meal, including drinks, it was excellent value for money. If you're looking for good traditional homemade food and warm, friendly hospitality, you can't go wrong here. Would definitely come again.

This is a cash only cafe. They did not have a vegetarian breakfast option on the menu, but were very happy to modify and help create a lovely dish.

Positives

Obviously have lots of regular customers as customers were addressed by name and they were addressing one of the waitresses by name. I always think if locals visit it must be good

Very busy. Had to wait for a table

Plenty of food on the plate. Very generous helpings

Negatives

They had a sign saying they don't do fast food they do good food as fast as they can. Therefore there might be a wait. I lost track of time after waiting 20 minutes. Felt that length of time was a bit excessive

In a world where Coronavirus is still around I expected the toilet to be better than it was. Not sure which month it had last been cleaned in but it didn't look like it was this one! Dread to think what nasties could be caught from it. Was glad I had some Hand Sanitiser with me.

Footnote

Just hope the kitchen was...

A lovely breakfast this morning. Very tasty, and plenty of it. Very clean, fantastically friendly. New team member Millie is a huge asset. Well done 🌟 Our second visit to this friendly establishment this morning and it was even better than the first visit. Well cooked and plentiful breakfasts all served with a smile and lovely chat. Sorry to have missed Millie this time but glad she is still an active member of the team and really growing in to her staff...
