Terrible service from the outset. I couldn't even tell you about the quality of the food, because I left before even placing an order. I would give it zero stars, but the option isn't available.
I "attended" around the start of 2019. I noticed the cafe upon entering the Market through the main entrance, and decided to see what they had to offer. Whilst looking at the big green menu above the cafe, one member of staff, instead of being either friendly or welcoming, demanded that I moved, because I was "getting in the way of their customers". They weren't even 'busy' at the time, I was more than aware of my surroundings and I would have happily stepped to one side if someone wanted to get past. Sadly, I was intending to be one of said "customers" and could have been a frequent one with better service from the outset. I ended up telling the rest of the family to meet me elsewhere and would never go back here as a result.
There's a cafe outside on the "food court" of the market, next to the side road off Adelaide Street, called Cafe Al Fresco. We ended up going there instead. The staff here we extremely welcoming, the service was incredible and they seemed to take a genuine interest in everyone that came towards them. Often scooting from one table to another to check on customers and ask them about their day.
We have been frequent visitors there ever since. I would highly recommend that place over this one (sadly they don't have a google review...
Read moreWe have visited Fleetwood cafe on and of for 20 plus years. A few weeks ago we had a nice ham sandwich on thin white bread this time thick door stopper bread , spoilt it. Steak pie half the usual size, but the full price . Coffee wasn't good last time thought it could of been how it was made by young girl . But again a terrible watery milk no taste of coffee , I don't like strong coffee but this is terrible. The cafe use to have the best cup of coffee , WHAT HAPPENED?. THE Cafe wasn't busy almost as much staff as customers, but it was like watching a bunch of Zombie walking about no interest not watching the room who was coming and going . It's either lack of training or they have no interest in which case get another job . After waiting sometime we caught the eye of a waitress ( nose piercing black hair) who came over said I'll be back but never returned . Then 4 people sat down another waitress asked who's first , conciderating they had just walked past her she should have known . Then the best came, 4 people on another table got served with food by a waitress with tattoos on arm , they asked her for something , her reply was sorry I'm going on my break , there faces where dumbfounded. Do you staff like being miserable not doing your job to your full ability . And to the kitchen staff continuity is the key to good food . It used to be a great little cafe fantastic coffee , great service . Hope you can...
Read moreWent to this cafe today with my mum, we both ordered scrambled egg on toast. I tasted the egg first and it was awful, my mum asked what was up on telling her the egg wasn't nice, she tastes hers and agreed not nice. I had eaten half a slice of toast while we waited for the waitress to come over. Telling her there was something wrong with the eggs it taste like the milk if off or something, she took our plates away. A few minutes later we hear the chef shout the milk is fresh. Next thing my money is slapped onto the table, a pound short, i can only assume thats because i ate half a slice of toast. no sorry or can we get you anything else. Awful...
