Chokdee Thai Cuisine in Ilkley — Restaurant in Bradford

Went here yesterday evening with my husband as a treat and was appalled by the food quality,staff were friendly but we felt forgotten about as no one checked to see if everything was alright with our meal ,we struggled to get a waitresses attention so we just ate the bland overcooked starters,it was clear we weren’t happy as we pushed the items from the platter around our plates. when our plates were cleared we struggled to understand the gentleman clearing our plates,but I’m sure our lack of enjoyment was all over our faces No checks while eating to see if food acceptable. we spoke to a waitress when our mains arrived as they too were bland at this point we explained our starters were dry,bland,overcooked with an absence of spice,even in the chilli sauce She was very apologetic,my husband wanted nothing else to eat at this point we knew that nothing would be authentic We offered to pay for what we had eaten (starter platter and drinks)however they wouldn’t accept any payment which was very decent after our wasted journey and spoilt evening. Not Authentic Thai food, pre cooked warm ups

After reading other reviews I realise now that they have said very much the same thing , unpleasant smell that comes and goes,dry /bland food /not authentic. Positives: seemed like Nice people which makes this honest...

Booked a table for 2 this evening,we were greeted by a strange smell when entering we couldn't work out if it was the toilets,damp or something else,but we decided to just ignore it. Initial service was good until they got a little bit busier . When the mixed platter arrived we were quite surprised how bland everything was with nearly zero spice or flavour, Very much felt like freezer to table food and not authentic at all. We left our Mains as they were bland ,not very warm and maybe designed for the English palate🤷 The manager and staff seemed very sincere in there apologies and refused to take any payment,I was more than willing to pay for the starters and drinks as we did eat them. A few more courtesy checks earlier on we could have explained that the starter was poor etc but we didn't get chance to see a waitress We laughed on the way home about how bad this place is,it's unreal😳we didn't have one good food item between us The worst Thai meal...

Chokdee is a restaurant that has consistently struggled with maintaining quality over the years. Despite changing names and owners seven times in the last 12 years, the interior remains outdated and nothing seems to have improved.

Unfortunately, the slow service and difficulty in understanding customer requests only adds to the disappointment of the subpar food. The cuisine lacks the authenticity of true Thai food and instead resembles poor Chinese takeaway - greasy and unappetizing.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Chokdee and can only assume that positive reviews are from individuals with limited exposure to quality...
