The Ilkley Cow — Restaurant in Bradford

The restaurant is based on a main street onlooking an old church with a lovley little walk round the river located just down from it the inside of the restaurant is very warm and inviting for good old meat eaters with the chairs made from cow hide which is very comfy the service is brilliant and the staff are lovley the chef/owner is one of the most passionate chefs ive met who even tgo it is not on the menu prepared a special steak for me as i rang ahead and asked what was the biggest steak they did to be told on the phone 35oz and 25 oz the staff member then went to ask the owner and chef what is the biggest they can do and he then said he could and would prepare either a 70oz steak fillet or we could have 120oz of different cuts i chose the fillet the chef then came out to show us the fillet and explain how he would cook this brilliant cut of meat i then told him i would like it medium to well done so just that pink line please and he cooked it to perfection i can happily say that was the best stake ive ever had and ever steak in there was cooked to perfection they offer a nice range of whiskeys one being a 18 year aged mcallan whiskey which was very smooth all selections of meats are cooked to perfection and the decor is lovley the staff are brilliant and tended to what ever we needed aswel as everybody else even the customers was lovley we had a good natter with a few customers and they had nothing but good things to say and i see why even the chips shocked up they come on the menu as chunk chips but they was jumbo chunky chips nothing but nice words for this restaurant and its lovley staff and passionate chef top marks from us prices do range depending on you want our was abit higher due to the off menu requests but they do offer lower prices keep in mind mine wasnt on then menu parking depends on how busy what time of day and this is located a little further down on the side other...

Went to the ilkley cow in ilkley of course My starter of scotch egg was ok plenary of egg but not much scotch (meat) could have read the paper through it Order my flavoursome rib eye steak in marrow bone gravy / sauce Steak was tough so the waitress said we are doing another one for you ? Not would you like another type of steak , when it came surprise surprise it was tough £25 a steak by the way when the manager came to the table he apologised and said he would not charge for the steak on the bill so I ate the mash and half a mushroom and a tomato don’t know why there was only half a mushroom I had ordered a side of roast veg with my steak which was cold by the time my second steak came out which as you are aware was tough / very chewy Very pretentious restaurant the marrow bone sauce was tasteless and was the same taste as the sauce on my wife’s rack of lamb which by the way was cut in half and char grilled ( very well I may add as the bones were very black and charred ) I know you don’t eat the bones but you don’t expect rack of lamb to be char broiled unless stated on the menu Now the marrow bone sauce tasted very bland and a little similar to packet Demi glacé Shame to say I left very disappointed and hungry Why they did not offer an alternative steak was beyond me Spoilt are 34 wedding...

Anniversary weekend, so we thought we would try Ilkley Cow as we both love our food and the ratings looked good and reviews to match it. For starters we ordered the Teriyaki Pork Belly Skewers & Shell on Argentinian Tiger Prawns. The Skewers were delicious, Tiger Prawns taste was nothing amazing but still set a good starting point before mains. Mini Steak Sampler & Glazed Pork Belly for mains. Pork Belly was like butter, melt in your mouth gooeyness with the the crackling on top to finish the layers. The Steak Sampler was good, too much salt flakes covering the plate which for me was a little overpowering on the steak but it’s personal preference as my partner liked it. FYI I thought the chunky chips would be a crispy beast of a chip but sadly not, still tasty just let down when seeing previous images so use that as a reference for the future. Unfortunately we had a slide issue with one of our dishes but after speaking with our waiter who was sincere and apologetic we continued on with our meal with no problems and full bellies.
