My husband ( on his mobility scooter) asked what they had that was dairy free and he was first told ‘these muffins’ by a member of staff standing by the cake - fortunately another member of staff overheard and pointed out that they were not!! As his blood sugars were running low ( he has a monitor) he was leaving when I arrived and we noticed that they did sell crisps which would do the job! Before I even approached the counter the same member of staff said ‘ we don’t have anything dairy free’ and true- none of the cakes where she was standing were but by the cash desk they had toast and toasted teacakes and a flapjack bar marked ‘vegan/milk free’ I pointed out the toast etc to which she replied ‘ yes but that’s not a cake he wanted a cake’ My husband had not specifically asked for a dairy free cake just for ‘ something dairy free!’ He often visits the Costa near to where we live as they usually have dairy free sandwiches, toast with a vegan spread and occasionally a dairy free cake. However the attitude of this server was extremely rude. My husband went and found a seat while I bought his coconut milk latte and toasted tea cake with vegan spread from the very helpful person on the cash desk who offered dairy free food alternatives! In most Costas or other coffee chains we have always found staff to be very helpful in regard to allergies and also very cautious- the person who my husband first encountered...

Went in Friday around lunch time. Staff working behind the counter were fantastic. While I was waiting, I'd spied a free table which I intended to sit at. It had the previous customers cups etc on it. A member of staff walked over to it, pushed in the chairs and ignored the mess on the table and instead proceeded to have a chat with someone she knew sat nearby. I walked over to said table and asked the staff member if it's ok I sit there, she gave me a dirt look and said yes.

I sat down but forgot sugar. Due to bad knees and a very wobbly table, as I stood up and caused my coffee to spill all over the table and floor. I asked the staff member for a cloth, so I could clean up the mess I'd caused. She passed me some blue paper towels accompanied by another dirty look, coz how dare I interrupt her having a personal conversation while she's working.

I settled in to enjoy my coffee and lunch. Same staff member finished her conversation, gave me another dirty look and then proceeded to go talk to another acquaintance, all the while the other staff are working the...
