Strolling thru the square, and saw this sit in chippy. As it was raining...thought let's have a fish tea. When you walk in, it's quite basic, and the clientele looked "hard". BUT...saw a Halal sign in the window, as we were leaving...so after checking some reviews on Google, decided to give it a go. What a surprise...we ordered two small fish & chips which come with tea, bread & butter. Our server was called Lucy, who gave us a choice of brown or white. Cost £7.95 each. We were glad they offered 3 sizes (see menu) as we weren't that hungry. It was served promptly, and were pleasantly surprised. It was hot & tasty. The teabags used were of good quality, and we both got more than 2 cups each from the pot. The bread was soft & fresh, and spread was okay. A big shout out to Lucy, for a simple & efficient service. We would definitely come back here again.

Literally hated my experience here. Music was loud and the lady serving taken forever to take my order and was just stood there singing and complaining very loudly about everything, even started complaining when more customers came in and there was just 3 of us. Got my chips just thrown in paper, no trey or anything to be able to actually eat them without unwrapping the paper and them all falling out. Asked if we could have a trey or something so we can eat them and was told no, it costs too xtra to sit down and started serving next customer. Also horrible food hygiene in fact zero food hygiene. Just touching all the food and grabbing the chips with her hands and then standing there with her hands in her pocket

Awful. The girl with the colourful hair serving us was having a meltdown about tables being understaffed when we walked in, and did NOT make us welcome. The food took forever to arrive, when it did it was horrendous. The oil needs to be changed, the batter was far too dark from it, the chips were awful, and the sausage looked anemic! The tables were filthy and the portion size was not adequate for the cost. The girl serving us was swearing loudly whilst complaining about her day and there were kids in the restaurent. Terrible experience, terrible staff, terrible food. You couldnt pay me to return here.

Ate in, which costed extra (understandable). Food was decent just bog standard fish and chips but the person behind the counter was singing loudly from the moment we arrived until we left - kind of hard to enjoy a meal with your partner when someone's treating the local chippy like an open mic night. The poor girl who was taking orders had to ask one of the customers to repeat their order because she couldn't hear the guy speak over the singing, it was actually ridiculous.

Like I said, they charged us extra but didn't offer any sauces or anything apart from the bare minimum of salt and vinegar.

Thankfully Britain's next big pop star left for a cig as we were about three quarters of the meal down so I got to eat the rest of my...

Was it being racist or just rude, it’s hard to explain

I walked into the shop and two staff are sat gisting, one on the phone with her boyfriend and the shop is a mess, dirty and filthy.

These guys absolutely ignored my presence while continuing chewing loudly and the other on a call, when I finally get their attention they act as if I was speaking Spanish(this was a combination of racism and rudeness now)

When they finally take my order one interesting Thing is, she said I can’t eat in but the shop clearly had it written customers are encouraged to eat in

The fish was so soggy and messed up I had to throw the meal away

Thanks for a very ugly experience while craving fish and chips all day Food: 2/5 | Service: 1/5 | ...
