Twice now I have experienced disgusting customer services from Pepes!
The first time was a while ago.. I had called up the Leeds Road Branch to check on my order as it had gone past the expected delivery time. The lady answered and stated that my order was on the way. An hour and a half later (no exaggeration) I am still waiting for this order, I called pepes up again and they would pick up and put the phone back down. I tried a few times and the same thing would happen, they would pick up the phone and put it down.
Today I placed an order via Uber Eats and scheduled a time slot way in advance. It’s getting close to the scheduled delivery time and the order hasn’t been accepted by Leeds Road Pepes. I call the Leeds Road Branch, the same lady answers, she couldn’t make out what I was saying, so she hands the phone to a male. I tell him I’ve placed an order, and would like an update, he tells me they haven’t received the order and I need to check that I’ve placed the order with the right branch. I ring him straight back after confirming the order was placed with the right branch and again they’re answering phone and putting it straight down.

Read moreI’ve been a regular Pepe’s customer — usually visit the store and always had a decent experience. Occasionally I order via Uber Eats when I can’t go in person. This time, I paid almost £20 for a meal that normally costs £11–12 in-store, knowing there’s a premium for delivery.
I used the request box (as it's there for a reason) and politely asked for a couple of extra sauces — something I’ve asked for in-store without any issue. Instead of just following their policy or ignoring the request, someone from the store called me and spoke rudely. I wasn’t demanding — I even said, “It’s fine, follow your rules,” but I simply pointed out that it feels unfair when I'm already paying extra for the same food.
If you don’t want customers to make requests, that’s totally fine — but clearly write it in your store description on Uber Eats instead of calling and being disrespectful. That way people won’t feel like they’re being told off for something they didn’t know.
Honestly, not the experience I expected from a place I’ve supported for so long.
