*This review is for the take out/cafe place on the corner, not the restaurant* The place is renowned as one of the best desi breakfast places in Bradford, if not Yorkshire. They make fresh channa puris daily and although the seekh kebabs and samosas sold are heated in the microwave they're also pretty fresh and tasty. They've recently had a well needed refurb so inside is looking fresh and pleasant. Unsurprisingly the prices have gone up and little but worse still is they've made other cut backs which spoil the meal a little. You no longer can get tap water in the glass which they've been serving since the 60's, sauce bottles removed from tables and worse of all the card machine has been removed so cash only. I don't understand why a company that has so many customers, plenty of income needs to ruin their reputation and have the tag of tax avoiders around their neck. That needs to change, especially this day and age where everyone pays contactless. The food alone is 9/10, but factoring in the pathetic cut backs it's a 7/10 from me.

Ever since i can remember i have always visited sweet centre from being child to now as an adult. Always a good variety of selection of food and breakfast is veru descent without breaking the bank. Anyways ramadan as it is will always be busy. Pakoras can be hit an miss..but thats understandable due to the mass quantity they have to make. However off late i would say they have been tasty so no complaints here. Service is quick and staff are friendly and nice to say english spoken too. On other notes I would suggest perhaps keeping the food covered when customers come in due to contamination of breathing/blowing etc. On being served today by your staff he wore gloves for everything which included your chicken pakora and shami kebab but not the pakoras. I know its not the same and only a minor issue however consistency would have given you a 5 star fr me today. However i am a regular customer so hopefully next time i can bump it upto 5 star. Keep up the good work.

Once visited never forgotten. Thank you for the experience. 60yrs in business. Would have thought they would have got their customer service in good practice. Chana puree. Over powering with powdery spices. Cold. Pink tea had a pieces which I was told was a pistachio. Cold The halva was so greasy it was terrible. Cold. Cold food and drinks. Reason given... it's self service and was left on the counter to be picked up. We never heard the call for picking it up as advised. (I must have become completely deaf as soon as I entered the premises). DON'T bother coming. Not work it.

I was visiting York with my wife and we made a trip to Bradford just to have dinner at the world famous Sweet centre. Myself and my wife went here 2 nights ago for some mithai what can I say delicious stuff and wonderful service. Prior to visiting we went to the sweet centre restaurant next door and had an awesome meal. We ordered poppadoms, pickles, sheekh kebab, meat samosa, halwa, a prawn 🦐 curry, a lamb Karahi (boneless), 1 paratha, 1 garlic 🧄 naan 🫓, 1 tandoori roti, and 1 normal naan 🫓. A fizzy drink each and two desi chaais. Whilst finishing my food my wife went to this place and got some mithai and bought it back. Let's start with the service a young kind gentleman (Habib) served us and took his time helping me choose a great meal. He took his time and didn't rush us, he made us feel welcome and came back whenever we needed anything. Definitely service with a smile and an awesome host and a credit to the sweet centre team. As we were about to leave Mr Waqar came and we met and had a chat. All this food for only £44 awesome food , authentic, thoroughly enjoyed it.

We went here a year ago with our children and I can honestly say this place is an absolute gem and I would encourage people to visit this place if you want an awesome Indo/ Pak/ Kashmiri meal served with a smile. We couldn't finish our food and had the rest off it the next evening. 10/10 I am not affiliated with this eatery in any way shape or form just a customer who is giving his honest review. I can safely say this is my favourite...

i ordered x1 halva puri which comes with x2 puris, x2 chana portions which comes with x2 puris for each portion, i also ordered 4 seekh kebabs and 4 samosa's, total comes to around £20, i got ripped off by the old man because he was too busy on the phone taking orders and just kept punching numbers in to the till, how can you over charge somebody by £6 pounds? its not right and its not on? your business is supposed to be selling halal food and obviously the earnings have to be halal also following your beliefs and religion, why over charge people and eat HARAM, its not the first time this old man has done it to me, the portions are tiny and prices sky high for sure i won't be coming back here again, shame been established for years but making money and ripping people off seems to be the new trend, worry about your after life and what answers you will give for exploiting people!

10/03/24;- please admit your mistake it does not total up to the amount, why try cover up that your over charging people it does not make sense, in business remember the customer is always right not the business or the owner, maybe an apology would be nice or even offering to compensate for over charging would be nice or you could even offer free food as a way of compensating but i can see the business here is set to rip people off clearly! spend your money else where, the place has gone down hill people, if you choose to go here be prepared...

Travelled to Bradford to see an ill family member, whilst in the town of Bradford, I thought I would google the best pakora shop, and top of the list was the sweet centre, so I paid a visit. Nice and clean first impression, so felt comfortable to purchase some food. Staff behind the counter friendly, and willing to help, ordered 1kg of pakora , 4 sheesh kebabs, and 6 meat Somosas, as no veg available. Mint sauce provided. The cost was £13.20, which was expensive, to what I would have normally paid, but as this establishment had some great reviews, I didn’t mind. Now Looking forward to eating the food, with my nephews, what a disappointment, pakoras dark and oily , spicy 🌶 so did not taste as good 5/10, sheesh kebabs tasted nice 8/10, but the Somosas were the biggest disappointment 2/10, filling was mince and potatoes, which was nice, however the oily pastry, which had more oil than my car, were not edible with the pastry, so removed pastry and had the filling. This review is left for the owner/s to help improve standards of quality, not a review to have a pop, standard of quality needs to improve...
