The Imperial Chinese Shipley — Restaurant in Bradford

Didn't book but they said it was fine and seated us. At no point did they mention they were busy and there would be a wait. So we ordered some water and our starters and my 2 year old daughters food as she was very hungry . We waited over 15 mins for water and had to ask again ( the waitress was rushed off her feet so it was understandable) however we then had to wait over an hour for our starter of 5 chicken wings and my daughters meal. It was finally brought out however they had made the wrong food for my daughter so we sent that back. Then there was literally a 1 minute interval between them bringing out our mains. By this point we were not happy at all. We had all this food on the table. We didn't want our mains to get cold so we had to eat them and leave the starter. The vegetables in our food were not cooked either and were cold. I tried to speak to the owner however as he walked away he jusy said they were busy and didn't come back to discuss it. We were ready to leave so went to pay. He gave us a 20% discount however I asked to speak to him to make a complaint. As soon as he came out he had an aweful attitude. Then as I was explaining my issues he cut me off mid sentance and basically threw our money back at us and said "well were quits now" I am appalled at the service of this restaurant tonight. Not only was the owner rude he didn't care at the fact I was not happy. The poor waitress was run into the ground running about trying to sort everything while keep up with customers as well. Our first visit - definitely won't be the last! We chose the early bird meal deal and were not disappointed. Prawn crackers to start with, then a very generous serving of crispy duck with pancakes & a lovely sauce. Then came the mixed starters - including ribs, prawn toast, seaweed & lots more - more than enough for 2 people. We couldn't believe we still had our mains to get through - an amazing sweet & sour king prawn dish - best king prawns we've had- and a gorgeous spicy lamb dish which was recommended by Abdul the owner who was more than happy to talk through the dishes with us. A lovely bottle of (very reasonably priced) merlot & 2 sambuca shots later - we left very full...

Well disappointed, used a few time recently, delivery only, on this occasion waited ages, turned up, delivery driver had gone to the wrong address, accepted the order to find it wasn't complete and cold ! Rang up for missing item, 10 mins it will be there she said, well 30 mins later still no joy, we ate what we had (warmed up) while waiting, rang again got the surprised it hadn't arrived line, asked for a refund, which was agreed as paid online, guess what, no refund and no missing item, bad customer service probably won't use again .. UPDATE! Received refund a couple of days...
