Having lived in Bradford for over six years, I am amazed that it took me this long to discover the culinary gem that is Wedesi. This restaurant offers an authentic taste of India that is both comforting and tantalizing.

The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the chicken biryani. Served on the bone, it closely mirrored the rich and complex flavors of a traditional Hyderabadi dum biryani. The blend of spices was perfect, and the rice was fluffy and aromatic, making each bite a delight.

The starters were equally impressive. The Andhra pepper fry had the right amount of heat, and the hariyali chicken was a revelation – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each piece of chicken was cooked to perfection, striking a delicate balance between succulence and tenderness.

Additionally, the tandoori roti deserves special mention. It was of outstanding quality – soft yet with the perfect amount of chewiness, making it a great accompaniment to the main dishes.

Wedesi has certainly won me over, and I am left wondering how I missed this restaurant for so long. With such exceptional food, my future orders are guaranteed to be from Wedesi. If you're in Bradford and crave authentic Indian cuisine, do yourself a favor and visit Wedesi – you won't be disappointed. Not to forget the chicken curry which they gave to me as complimentary without charging a penny when we called saying we forgot to order a curry...

Went to WeDesi on a recommendation from a friend, and it was just to have a quick look. Parking (lack of) is an issue, but there, behind a bus stop; there's the little gem of Indian restaurant serving a cosmopolitan indian cuisine with a chinese twist.

Having read the interesting and varied menu, we decided to sample the food and eat in. My son ordered the butter chicken dosa, not your usual masala dosa, but it had the components. The dosa was large, hanging off the plate, crispy and perfectly filled with a good portion of chicken. The sambr and coconut chutney sides complimented the dish. On the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered the Lamb Hyderabadi Dum Biryani. The smell and taste definitely sent you back to the street sellers of Hyderabad, perfectly cooked and scented rice with a generous meat to rice ratio. It's was a large portion, so good for a second day meal. My wife, she ordered the Kadhai Wala Chicken - again, you could not fault this. Generous pieces of chicken in a tangy tomato/onion sauce, not too hot, just right πŸ˜‹.

The meals were very reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. Deco could do with some lighter colours, but you're there for the food, which was spot on. We'll definitely come back to try the breakfast deals and sample some more dishes. On my eye on the Goan...

If you are an Indian in Bradford and craving home food like pao bhaji ...masala dosa ...biryani...manchow soup that you miss well you need to definitely come to We Desi located in Manningham Lane ..a small little Indian restaurant tucked amidst the hustle and bustle it gives you the right feel and the right vibes of India the moment you enter. ...The menu was vast and had our favorite items that we couldn't resist ordering

What we ordered

Mysore Masala Dosa Mumbaiya Pao Bhaji Chicken Manchow Soup Chicken Hot and Sour Soup Chicken Hyderabadi Dum Biryani

Well the verdict. .super yummy super tasty super awesome and super amazing. .it was worth spending Β£24.00 and getting full on paisa vasool food ..Infact this place is like a welcome breath of fresh air as we were able to eat real good food in an area like Bradford which was full of eateries serving below par and substandard food and We Desi was definitely a welcome break from the pizza burger and donner culture.

Honorable mention to the manager Murliji and Chef Kumar who ensured that our first ever experience was made memorable

Definitely worth a second visit ! Nah its time for multiple visits to enjoy the real taste the asli swad of...

Went to here last night. Overall the food is good, the masala dhosa, bhel puri, seekh kebabs and lamb bhuna were all cooked well with plenty of flavour. The Nizamuddin chicken was very tasty, reminded me of the ones in India, one of our party thought it was slightly undercooked, I disagreed, but checking it again at home it turns out he was right, which is a shame. I wasn't too impressed with the mango lassi, needed more yoghurt, mango and sweetness I felt. We ordered a second one and asked to make it sweeter, which it was but still lacked something. There was something not right with the tandoori rotis and naans, one of our party thought they're brought in and warmed up. Overall I'd go again for the Nizamuddin chicken and the dhosa, probably take out on the curries, hopefully the small issues can be ironed out as it's nice to have a place offering something that's different.
