Unfortunately the food was really over priced so it was a shock to see the ridiculously small portion sizes too. Paid 45£ (40 without delivery) for Jollof rice (box was just over half filled), over fried beef so partially inedible and fried meat in a small cup - THE SUYA WAS NICE. I would expect impeccable tasting food at that cost and size so this would be fixable by reducing the prices or increasing the portion sizes. This would bring less attention to the quality. Personally I think both are needed. £40 for a 1 person meal is crazy and then feeling like I paid for Gucci and got SHEIN quality. Btw Nothing wrong with SHEIN, if that’s what you know you picked.
This could be a nice place to eat from if they took on board what the customer reviews are saying - I do hope so as there are only a few Nigerian/west African food places in Bristol but it won’t be that way forever - it can take just 1 good competitor to...
Read moreAfter just moving to Bristol I wanted to sample some African food, I was happy I found this restaurant after searching for some time. On entering I was not greeted with a smile, the lady seemed busy. The food under the counter looked delicious, with an assortment of food. I chose Egusi with pounded yam to take away. The lady had to make the pounded yam which took 7 minutes. On taking the food home to eat I was greeted with pounded yam that was the consistency of mashed potato, and the Egusi had 3 pieces of meat and and was just one large scoop and did not even fill the container. I even wondered if it spilled out in my bag, as there was just a little bit of food. I had to throw away the “ pounded yam potato “ it’s such a shame as the Egusi was so tasty however small. I felt cheated and wasted my money. I will try out another African restaurant and hope they are better . Very...
Read moreI was in Bristol for a business conference with a friend, and we thought to try this place out. IT WAS HORRIBLE! Loud music from a TV assaulted our ears as we entered, and the place just looked so unkempt, but maybe the food would compensate, right? Wrong! We sat for almost 15 minutes, nobody came to attend to us. Then someone brings us a plate of food, we hadn’t even ordered anything yet! Then we thought… maybe this was one of those naija restaurants where service is poor but food turns out awesome…..I laugh in spoilt chicken and tasteless jollof. One bite of the chicken and I just couldn’t continue. The cutlet was dirty, as were the tables on which they were put on. We cut our losses, covered their food with serviette (at least they had that one), and went to...
