Very few places in the UK do affordable freshly cooked eat-in Halal English Breakfast - Monte Carlo was a gem which is one of them for which we had to come all the way from Swindon.
I had the Full Jack ( 3 halal chicken sausages , 3 halal slices of turkey bacon , 2 half-fried eggs , 2 hash browns , grilled mushrooms , beans , french fries , toast with butter ) which costed only £ 10 ! You cannot get such a huge platter in that price these days !
Our order arrived within 15 minutes of ordering - even though it a small place with a few people who manage it - they were extremely polite , helpful and swift with their service.
1 gave one star less for the Atmosphere because there was no music being played ( maybe a one-off as I am not a regular customer ) and the toilets upstairs were really small and not that appealing - they could add an air freshner or at least a toilet brush 😅
But well , if you're only coming for the food - you will love it !
Keep it up guys - will definitely try again if I come...
Read moreTook my son, first member of staff was so rude to us before we said a word. Then after 20 mins she took our order, then 30 mins later i asked very polite if we could have our coffees as we were getting thirsty. I was told no and that during this the staff another woman was verbally rude and very offensive. Almost like how dare we ask her a thing. 1 hr and 20 mins later they still haven't got us our food. 2 poxy breakfast and had blatantly served people who arrived way after us. We ended up leaving. Hungry pissed off with being spoke to like dirt. And in my opinion they were being racist to us. Sorry white people can't be racial abused. The cafe used to be great. I will never use it again. If staff have no manners then they should not be doing the job. Worst cafe experience ever. Honestly. It's so sad I grew up up the road on heath St and my dad took me there. Wouldn't buy a thing there, don't pay people to be rude...
Read moreA relative introduced me to Monte Carlo today. He's a regular and I can see why. The turkey bacon, mushroom and cheese panini was the snack I didn't know I needed. Can I just take moment to say the hot chocolate was actually HOT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥??!!! I always forget that most places won't serve it hot unless you ask (do most people really want lukewarm chocolate?) and I always wish I hadn't bothered. Kudos for serving up a perfectly sweetened chocolate that will actually warm you up after a December morning on Clifton Downs.
Our server was really friendly and the atmosphere was cosy. It felt like we'd been invited round to a friend's house for brunch. For those who've been, it was giving Kimo's (Liverpool) vibes.
Brunch for 2 adults and 3 children was £43. This is definitely going to be a regular for decent reasonably priced food as an alternative to the junk food outlets we all...
