Booked Alcotraz Bristol for my Partner’s 30th, and had an excellent experience from start to finish - they very kindly added a ticket to their website as there were six tickets left and we needed seven, they also placed a stool at the end of the cell so we could sit together on the day which was really lovely of them! The immersive experience was fantastic, I’m an avid theatre fan so I knew I was going to love it, but the whole group had such a laugh and were talking about it for the rest of the day! The cocktails were of a really high quality (well worth the money for those alone!!), and the actors were truly brilliant - they interacted with us just enough for us to feel involved, but still gave us space to hang out and enjoy the experience. The only improvement I’d suggest is for the story/performance segments to move around or be positioned at different areas of the room throughout the experience, so all cells can have a ‘front row’ view of the performance as it mostly took place near the ‘kitchen’ and we found it difficult to see through the bars from the opposite side of the room - our group also needed to sit on both sides of the cell as we had a group of seven to one cell, so it meant three people had to have their backs to the actors for the story scenes and could only listen to them, as it wasn’t comfortable or spacious enough for them to turn around to watch; this wouldn’t be an issue for couples or smaller groups though, and our group still loved the experience as a whole; I’d definitely go again and would recommend to others looking for something a...

We had a great time but a few areas could be improved. We had issues booking this as the website kept crashing and declining the card and ended up blocking it and having to phone fraud. It was abit frustrating as I was booking this for a friend’s birthday. When we got there, we didn’t go in untill half an hour after the start time so we were waiting outside for while and then it cut out time down on the experience. Once in there it started off great but we were the last group to go in the wardens office and it felt really rushed and he didn’t go through a lot and rushed us for our photos. I think they spent to long with other groups and we where rushed through ours. The cocktails tasted amazing but they kept forgetting one of ours wasn’t drinking and then considering we had 22 cocktails made for us over the experience they only used half of our vodka we brought in. So they didn’t have much alcohol in them and then we had to leave the rest at the bar as we couldn’t take it with us. Two of us had been to the Manchester experience which was incredible and this just felt abit of a let down compared. There were way more elements and interaction and the actors felt rushed and not at interactive as last time. Also we had extra bits like taken in to have a shot but we didn’t get any of this. We did enjoy our selves but we were a little bit disappointed. Hopefully with more experience it will improve and be...

More fun than I ever expected!

Alcatraz Bar in Bristol totally blew me away. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of the most unique and hilarious nights out I’ve ever had. From the moment we stepped inside, the actors never broke character—me and my friend were laughing non-stop. It’s like a wild mash-up between an escape room and a top-tier cocktail bar.

You “smuggle” in your own unopened liquor (which already feels like part of the game), and the bartenders—sorry, inmates—whip up amazing, custom cocktails based on what you bring. The whole thing is comedy gold, and the immersive experience just makes it even better.

I’m now completely obsessed and already planning to go back with everyone I know. If you’re looking for something offbeat, interactive, and genuinely...

What a brilliant time we had for my friends birthday! The actors are in character as soon as you see them and they’re bloody good at it! Highly recommend this if you’re wanting an immersive experience having a laugh with your friends. It’s sort of one of those things, once you’ve done it, it’s done however I would go back with a different group of friends just to experience it again. You do have to bring your own liquor which we thought was bit of a cheek after spending £49 a ticket however, we took a litre vodka in for 3 of us and only a small bit was returned to us so they really did make the most of making the cocktails strong which was great!
