Penfold's Kitchen — Restaurant in Bristol

Perfect location for a quick pickup when visiting the hospital, right across the road from the main entrance. We visited at lunch time and it was quiet in the shop, but we were getting a take away. I got the wrong panini (it was in the wrong location in the fridge) but was given an almond croissant for free as a sorry. Panini was still good even though it's not what I was expecting (got Chicken and Avocado - wanted the New Yorker though) but the croissant was amazing. Returned again the following morning for breakfast (Smashed Avocado, chilli, lime and poached egg) this was served on some bread that might have been a little too crusty, but delicious all the same. The closest cafe to the Bristol Children's Hospital, with the best coffee. I just couldn't face another Costa and was delighted to walk into this covid friendly establishment. The staff were genuinely helpful and pleasant, recommendations were given my order was placed and while I was still chatting my breakfast bap was in my hands. So delighted to find this place, and the flat white was just perfect. (compared to the one from Costa I threw miserably into the gutter last week!) At the BRI for the day, went in to find something for breakfast that was more appealing than what I could find in the hospital. It was everything you could ask for. I had prompt polite and friendly service, a quick chat while I waited, other customers were friendly and my order appeared quickly. The portions were a good size, both the food and coffee were spot on.

In short, I'd recommend this place and I will keep it in mind for when I'm in the area....
