Riverside Café — Restaurant in Bristol

Visiting from Canada and come here every time we visit Bristol. Locals don’t know how good they have it here. Had the special today which included a coffee or tea. Amazing thick slice toast supplied by a local bakery, a perfectly cooked over easy egg (with a beautiful yoke), a generous portion of english bacon and a sausage. Also included tomato and beans. We’ve travelled all over Europe in the past 5 weeks and the value for the quality and quantity of food is second to none. We were greeted and served by the owner and her staff who were friendly, attentive and efficient. We’ll be back for lunch tomorrow before leaving town. Had lunch here today and, having just arrived in the UK, it was my first introduction to a Ploughman's Lunch, which I absolutely loved and is now one of my favorites. I ordered the one with ham while my husband ordered the one with Stilton's cheese. The generous portions was filling and wonderfully satisfying, what with the very balanced portions of bread, fresh greens with carrots, tomatoes, and cucumber, a very nice cabbage slaw, boiled egg, crisps, and pickles (I love the pickled onions and beet), with butter on the side. I Usually take it on the chin and forget about it. But decided to call up and mention. The woman manager insisted that I was wrong..... How could I be when I physically have it in front of me and she is just going by memory? She was rude and hung up the phone.

When all I was looking for is for some customer service saying OK just mention it next time and we will give you extra... Its easier to be nice than miserable.
