On Saturday  afternoon me and my partner stopped for a quick pit stop which took far too long.

Food Let's start with the end product, we had the pork wrap and it was actually very nice! The meat had plenty of flavour and the filling to bread ratio was good. Often I find that the bread dominates in this kind of thing so to get a good mouthful of filling with each bite was a nice surprise. If I was to be critical it was very easy to eat without making a mess because there was a lack of sauce in the wrap. I don't mind a messy eat if it means plenty of sauce!

Service What a let down! We walked into an empty restaurant and was left stood for around 5 minutes, we should have moved on at this point. The guy serving eventually asked what we wanted and we placed our order. He wasn't rude but it felt very transactional. We then took a seat with our receipt. A few moments later three female students then came in and ordered their wraps too. Nothing then really happened for about 13 minutes (except a few delivery orders went out). Then two of the three girls recieved their wraps (strange), I was about to raise a query when they finally shouted our number. We waited 17 minutes for a wrap, no apology or explanation.

Location This little shop is located nicely near the bus stops but is nothing special, its just like a take out place. It did appear clean inside.

Price No complaints here, I think it was about £7 for the wrap and a can of drink. Just about right for what...

Absolutely DEPLORABLE meal from Taka Broad Quay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say I am wholeheartedly disappointed in Taka Broad Quay is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered my usual ‘Mix Meat Meze’.. I ordered EXTRA chicken gyros and THIS is what turned up!! A handful of chips and a half handful of gyros!!! NOT even the standard amount of food, but half that on both the chips and meat!!!… What boils my blood is that I paid a 10% tip to the driver (who was smiley and friendly) but the food was abysmal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I immediately called the shop on receipt of my order and the man on the phone was not RUDE & EXTREMELY ARROGANT!!!.. telling me to simply ‘complain to Uber and they’ll sort it!’…. This is TERRIBLE SERVICE through and through and UBER should strip this establishment of its patronage… SHOCKING SERVICE!!! & TERRIBLE customer skills…the guy I spoke with deserves to be sacked!!!… If you can’t be polite and courteous to a regular customer with. GENUINE grievance, you are SERIOUSLY in the wrong...

I recently visited Taka Taka, a small restaurant that really surprised me with its flavour and value. It’s definitely on the smaller side – inside seating is quite limited, probably enough for about 10 people at most – so it’s not the kind of place where you linger for hours. That said, there’s outdoor seating available, which is nice if you want to enjoy the view while you eat, and many people seem to go for takeaway.

The food itself was the highlight. I was really impressed with both the taste and the portion sizes. The flavours were fresh and satisfying, and the quantity they give for the price is more than fair. It’s not expensive at all considering the quality, which makes it a great spot if you’re looking for a tasty, filling meal without spending too much.

The service was quick and straightforward, and even though the space is small, it had a warm and welcoming vibe. I can see why it’s popular for grab-and-go meals – it’s convenient, affordable, and consistently good.

If you’re in the area and want something flavourful and filling without the fuss of a big sit-down restaurant, Taka Taka is worth...
