Absolute gem of a cafe in the heart of Totterdown. This cafe has an amazing menu that rotates based on seasonal best produce as well as a number of staples such as their outstanding breakfast. The food is all over totally exceptional. The confit potato cakes are absolutely legendary and even if you aren’t getting the breakfast I recommend ordering a side of them. They have some homemade sauces like their brown sauce and pineapple hot sauce, which I believe are available to purchase in bottles. There is a small grocery selection of things like local coffee, eggs, and handmade homewares such as vases. The walls display artwork by local artists that can be purchased. Every time I come here these have changed so they are constantly featuring new and interesting art. An absolute must if you’re in the area. Worth a trip into totterdown if you’re staying elsewhere in Bristol. Gets very busy on the weekends, book in advance to avoid disappointment.

A stunning vegetarian and vegan cafe and perfect spot for brunch that uses and also sells great local produce. Found in the heart of Totterdown, a well-known residential area in South Bristol - famous for its steep hills, colorful houses, and strong community vibe. It’s worth a visit for the tasty food alone - homemade kimchi, confit potato cakes, sticky tamari greens, Welsh rarebit, French toast and much more - but also for the beautiful architecture of Sundial House, including art work outside from its history as the first and original location of Indian local chain Tali Cafe.

Lovely place with great atmosphere, beautiful interior and friendly staff. It was our first time and they quickly seated us and let us know how things work. We had their big sundail brunch which was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! It was absolutely beautiful and delicious, and also a big portion! The staff were friendly and seemed overjoyed to work, amazing to experience. Definitely recommend as one of the best places to grab breakfast, brunch, or lunch!! They also have pastries which looked delicious and loads of other stuff! Definitely will be returning!

I had no idea there was such a little gem in the area doing amazing veggie breakfasts and brunch! I was wholeheartedly surprised at how generous the amount of food there was. This was a happy surprise, considering how stingey many places are. They make homemade sauces which are flavourful and were happy to substitute out eggs for something else since I am vegan. I only rated food down to 4 stars since it would be nice if there were vegan versions/ options for egg like a tofu scrable or vegan sausage could improve the vegan/veggie options. But very good overall!

A hidden gem! I booked breakfast here for the morning after a friend’s stag do for a table of four and was very pleasantly surprised. The ‘Big Sundial’ was fantastic and the owner/servers were very accommodating and friendly. It is clear that great effort has been made to source ingredients and be ethical wherever possible, but without sacrificing any quality. I’ll most certainly look to come here again on my return to Bristol and couldn’t recommend it highly enough - 5*

Just had the best roast of my life at this wonderful, vibey spot. They managed to find a slot for us last minute on a Sunday and after searching all over for a roast all day I was so excited to find one. The prices are insanely reasonable and every single part of my roast was perfect. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to visit again for a brunch and/or another roast
