I've chosen to dock a star for this hotel purely based on the fact that the beds were solid and the room temperature was impossible to get right with their little heaters. However, that being said, the location was perfect for rolling out of bed straight to the train station in the morning, we had a room at the back of the hotel so we had a quiet night bar the odd siren, and the breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of options for food and drink, hot and cold. The shower was warm and there was shampoo and body wash available, plenty of towels and a fully stocked tea tray. The staff were great and we even bought a few snacks and soft drinks before going to bed, which was a bit pricey but well needed. Overall the stay was great but those couple of things made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Excellent location opposite the Train Station. Parking around the back in the multi storey car park. Be sure to display your Hotel Permit in your car. Hotel parking charge is £13. We have now visited quite a few times and we recognise the same staff and some of them remember us. We didn't eat in the hotel at all, but we did have drinks in the bar. Dropped one star on this visit because on check in shortly after 2pm, there were loads of loud men in the bar drinking from their own cans of beer, in clear sight of the staff !!! Certainly not what expect to see in a Holiday Inn. Its our preferred hotel to use when in Bristol.

We had a late flight into Bristol Airport and a Rail connection from Temple Meads and selected the Holiday Inn as it is a 5 minute walk to the Rail station and Airport Bus stop The front desk was open as we checked in at 1 AM the staff were friendly and cheerfull. Bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and the room was very quiet Buffet full English breakfast was included in our rate and was delicious and served in a pleasent dining area Overall very good value for a City centre Hotel and a very conveniant and enjoyable short stay.

My stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare, and I strongly urge potential guests to avoid it until serious changes are made.

First, all my cosmetics and toiletries mysteriously went missing from my room. After I reported this, I eventually found most of the items in the housekeeping department, but this kind of gross mishandling is completely unacceptable. Guests should not have to worry about the security of their personal belongings, and this incident shows a shocking lack of professionalism.

Second, the room itself was barely habitable. The air conditioning was broken, and during the night, the temperature dropped so low that it was nearly impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, after housekeeping cleaned the room, they left the window wide open, turning the room into an icebox. This demonstrates an alarming level of carelessness and disregard for guest comfort.

Adding to the frustration, the front desk was utterly useless. I repeatedly tried to call for assistance, but no one ever answered the phone. This lack of basic customer service is simply inexcusable for any hotel.

This experience was not just inconvenient—it was infuriating. The hotel’s failure to maintain security, comfort, and communication reveals systemic issues that need immediate attention. I demand that management take full responsibility, implement strict corrective measures, and offer a proper explanation for this abysmal service.

Until these problems are addressed, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Guests deserve far...

This was our first stay at this hotel and indeed at a holiday inn express we have wide visits to holiday inns. This hotel for us had it's advantages and disadvantages. The main advantages included being so close to the railway station which is a 5 minute walk. The main parts of the City centre that we visited were a 15 to 20 minute walk including the harbor side and Bristol Cathedral both well worth a visit. There is also a good bus service to take you up to Clifton and the Clifton suspension bridge well worth a visit and walk across. Clifton village is well worth a visit as well.

Our rooms at the hotel were very good, though a comfy chair in the bedrooms would be a massive advantage. The staff both on our arrival and leaving were very helpful.

The only disadvantage was the breakfast quality, we have stayed at holiday inn many times before, and quite truthfully we would have to say the selection especially of hot breakfast is better then at the holiday inn express. Hot food kept in hot bowls and covered is not great especially for the bacon which was quite dry. At holiday inn things are kept in trays with those hot lights above keep the food hot, also there plates are hot in holiday inn. Also there should be the choice of mushrooms or tomatoes to make the breakfast more veggie for people who do not eat meat. But this is the only downside to this hotel. For the easy access to the station and city centre no mind if you want to walk or take a bus the hotel is a good...

Stayed with my partner on the weekend of 15th/16th May 2025. Great value/good quality budget hotel. We stayed as we were going to a gig at Trinity and meeting friends in the town centre prior - this hotel was excellently located. We came by car, there aren't a huge amount of spaces and we managed to bag the last one despite arriving earlier in the day than the regular check in time, so parking is scarce... though I do appreciate the hotel leans towards being a hotel for rail passengers as it's on the doorstep of Temple Meads Station and that it's also good to discourage cars from Bristol city centre. The room was of a good size and had all the usual facilities that were in good working order (we had the car as the train journey we would have taken was convoluted and expensive). Clean sheets and a nice bed. Was also well looked after as a IHG member. The breakfast was good and we got a table despite it being peak time on a Saturday. That said, I felt the room was otherwise very clean and the hotel is in good condition. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We would definitely stay again.

PS - My partner is a light sleeper and he didn't wake up in the night despite the hotel being in a busy location so I would say don't be put off by its close proximity to a main road and a busy...
