Not exactly the date night we had in mind!! There were good and bad points here so let's start with some good stuff. There are few places you can dine that give you a more beautiful view of Bristol harbour glittering away of an evening and if you like your craft ales you're in luck. My partner had the steak and though tiny it was perfectly cooked. On the bad side we managed to upset the bartender by trying to order food. He told us they had finished despite it being on the website, on the menu and confirmed the other bar staff as we arrived that they were continuing to serve food for an hour. He eventually agreed to serve us and later on when serving us, apologised having realised his mistake (fair enough) we did unfortunately eat without much in the way of conversation as the place was so noisy, it was basically like trying to enjoy a romantic meal in a loud office party. It wasn't early on and it was mid week but this place is obviously very popular with post work drinkers and our table became surrounded by standing drinkers leaving empty glasses and perching their bums on our table... eek. However... The lady who brought us our food was lovely and the fact it was so busy must mean something good, therefore, if you're out with the work lot looking for a nice place for drinks, this might just be it but for a nice little date night...? I'll avoid in future.

Visited from London for Lawless comic con. Very cool place but as some people mentioned before if you call establishment like that, you should have much bigger choice of craft beers. Only one sour... Oh well. Food was great, good portions, we've had all chips, the best in our opinion was 'posh' with cheese. I've had mussels, that was my first time having meal like that, it was great but more like an appetizer, so don't be silly and order something more filling. Surprised how big this place is, 3 levels, but bottom one was closed. Waiting time was reasonable. Can’t beat a view from top level specially in sunny day

One of my favourite restaurant pub which has great food and supporting local sourced food and drinks, craft beers and ciders.. On the river, near Mardyke Wharf along the Hotwells road/area, see the boats go by with 'ss Great Britain' in the distance is pretty special as a relaxing location even more so on a gorgeous day! Had to pop in here again for a quick drink and pint of real ale and this very special restaurant and pub delivers yet again. Friendly welcoming staff, fantastic location and another great experience too. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely atmosphere. Next time we'll have a meal too...

Came here on Sunday for the roast. Service was not the best, several drinks not available, someone took our order for a table of 4 without a notepad, then forgot the order and had to come back again to write it down, the food came after a really long wait (we came early and nobody else was waiting before us), then a cauliflower cheese was missing and took another 10 mins to arrive. Food was quite bland, mustard mash didn’t taste of mustard, roast potatoes were extremely pale, the fish was delicious and cooked well so that’s the only dish I would recommend.

I have been to The Grain Barge a few times over the years in Bristol. Their beer range is excellent, obviously, as this is part of the BBF empire lots of extra craft too if wanted. But today what struck me as I sneaked out the back (after taking the picture from the top deck) was how nice the 'lower river viewing bench' is and if you are a regular you know what I am taking about. I don't want to say this too loudly but on a fine Bristolian ☀ day this is one of the best places to be 😎

A great place for Breakfast that offers amazing view of the harbour. You can relax and watch the world go by as you enjoy a proper barista style coffee and a high quality breakfast. All the ingredients are well sourced, real thick cut bacon, butchers style sausages and it is the only place I have ever tasted fried sour dough bread. Not the cheapest breakfast around, but I believe it showed great value for money. The staff are also very friendly without being intrusive.
