Checking out the best vegan burgers in Bristol ;) #Bristol #vegan
Lisa EcclestoneLisa Ecclestone
First (but definitely not the last!) visit to Ve burger and what a great little place. I was the only vegan in our group of 4 which also included an 8 year old. We all absolutely loved it and devoured every bit of our order. The Van Helsing burger is highly recommended, delicious. We also ordered a bacon rooster, double cheeseburger and a mini sea burger for the 8 year old (very substantial and very much enjoyed). We all shared the dirty fries, onion rings and frickles...oh the frickles! So much choice on the menu, easy self ordering, very reasonably priced and great value for money. If only I lived nearer...

Absolutely banging dirty vegan food! I highly recommend if you love the crispy chicken style vegan burgers! Price is average for the times (around £11 for the full meal) but the food is top quality. Staff seemed friendly, although a little overrun. I waited around 15 minutes for my food but I didn't mind! I'm glad to have discovered this hidden gem and I'll visit again whenever I'm passing through Bristol!

Very decent food, best vegan burger i've had.

As a quick summary, Price is on the costlier side but no different than other burger places I've been to, food was overall very good and a quality replacement for both beef and dairy products, and the location was interesting but good.

To start, I'm not a vegetarian exactly. However I am looking to cut meat out during my day-to-day eating and leave the meat for special occasions. I also love greasy food and have been craving a good burger for a while.

I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries, and the fries were amazing, about as you'd expect for any other burger place that I've been to.

The cheeseburger was very good, although I do agree with other reviewers talking about how the sauce mostly carries it. However am not opposed to this as I love loading my burger with as much sauce as possible. I hadn't even thought about the cheese being vegan, until a couple bites in, and although it wasn't the best cheese of all time it tasted and felt like cheese enough for me to be happy with it. The burger "meat" themselves was decent, and definitely past my expectations of a substitute burger (I am no fan of most substitute products, except Quorn). My only complaint would be, much like other burgers I've tried, it was quite sweet, which for once I'd prefer not to have the brioche as it only aided to it. However I was pleasantly surprised by the burger in totality.

The location itself was interesting, located in a cargo box like the other businesses around it. There was ample seating both inside and outside, although most certainly on the small side. You can order at the counter, or through the menu on their digital display stands. They appeared to also have substitute chicken burgers, as well as options to add additional substitutes such as bacon. It didn't take longer than 5 minutes to be made (although I did come in a much less busy hour).

The pricing was not the cheapest, as McDonalds will always have competition beat, however matched the pricing of other cheeseburgers I've ordered back in my home town at similar sized businesses.

Overall, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and plan to return sooner...

I had seen this place a few times and had been meaning to try it out. I'm a meat eater but also a huge fan of vegan substitutes and will happily choose them.

I have ordered twice now (both times online which I recommend) and both times I've been pretty impressed! They vegan 'beef' they use is really good and I would happily order it again - they do a few variations of burgers using this beef style patty and I really do recommend trying it.

I also tried the small 'fish' burger and the small 'chicken' burger. The dupe fish was so convincing, I couldn't tell the difference at all! The chicken did have a bit of a vegan meat texture but was still equally delicious. The burgers are also pretty large & substantial too.

I will say this place is slightly expensive, even with budget menu options it's around £3/4 for a burger. That bring said I think the quality does live up to the price and I can see myself returning here again for sure.

Worth a try!

Edit: changing from 4 stars to 5 after seeing the owner reply because I think that's fair enough! Prices are just high at the moment and for sure the burgers here exceed anything else, especially the likes of fast food vegan burgers. They have a good product here and I think they're doing well to accommodate a dietary requirement whilst also making...

I've been meaning to leave a heartfelt well-deserved good review for the super-friendly gang at VeBurger ever since my first visit shortly after they opened at Cargo on Wapping Wharf. Fact is, I've been a couple of times since - once even with the visiting elderly "meat & 3-veg" in-laws from oop North - and my experience has been consistently GREAT... the in-laws did actually think so too, no kidding! I LOVE the burgers (just give me The Big Ve every time!), the loaded fries too (ESPECIALLY the amazing gravy, and the cheesy toppings were pretty good too), and the price is spot-on. All in all, a far superior offering in all respects to the other more well-known vegan/plant-based burger joints in town. I wish them continued success, certainly I'll keep going back. Go...
