I am a coffee lover, and by chance we happened to be driving over to Burnely to visit family when I spotted the infamous Tim Hortons. My partner driving thought that something was wrong by the amount of excitement I showed so suddenly over "just a coffee shop" but negotiated the one way system for me so we could visit. We came away with a hot coffee for myself, a caramel latte, and one of the new summer frappé drinks for my partner, along with a box of six donuts. I also purchased a travel mug too but was disappointed to find a large coffee does not fit into the travel mug, leaving a good 250ml to 300ml remaining.

My partner is not a huge coffee lover, but he fell in love with the coffee, as did I. It put our normal starbucks runs to shame. The donuts were fresh and the quality was great. Parking is limited but as we were parked outside a member of staff came out on break and got chatting to us, surprised we had come all the way from Blackpool and that we were now Timmys converts and were planning on making it a regular trip. This member of staff went out of her way to give us discount card for our next visit which was such a nice gesture. We have returned twice since then, once that member of staff was off but her colleagues remembered us and gave us a warm welcome back and today we visited too where we again were met with another warm greeting and some free timbits for our continued support and custom.

The price of drinks and food is extremely reasonable, it is a good job that there is not one closer to us or we would most likely be living on the coffee. We have tried the burgers, which were OK, we have had better. The grilled cheese sandwiches and cheese and ham sandwiches are a tasty snack at a cheap price point, and the breakfast menu is also well priced with good offers on too.

We will be looking forward to visiting again very soon, the Canadian customer service spirit is certainly there in this Branch of...

For somewhere that charges almost £4 for donuts, I expected a higher standard… I ordered a porridge and one of their cold refresher drinks (the strawberry one) and got an unmixed Quaker Oats pot and the most horrifically sweet and tangy drink that I took two sips of and it sat in my stomach all day until I eventually threw up (not kidding - I’d had nothing else but that drink and the porridge…)

The person that served us was even hesitant to give me the porridge pot, I think she was aware of the lack of quality maybe? It’s lazy and shameful when big chain food places give you something you could easily get yourself and mark up the price. You sell merchandise - couldn’t you at least have your own porridge?

Anyway, the self serving machine wasn’t working so we had to use another, and then that one ended up not printing our receipt. We did get our order, after a good 20 mins, but they gave my boyfriend two drinks and two breakfast meals instead of the one… and then we had to ask for my porridge that they forgot, which we then found out was a just add water porridge pot. The servers looked like they had no idea what they were doing, the atmosphere was non-existent and all in all, now it’s been confirmed to me why I’ve been...

We were so excited to go here, walked inside and it wasn’t particularly busy, wet floor sign where coffee had been spilled but not yet cleaned up, the staff weren’t busy so could have cleaned it. Anyway we ordered the currywurst hotdog, the cheeseburger and 5 pieces of chicken. Although the food was hot, when we got to the car and opened the bag, my partner took his burger out and it was thrown on slanted and had a big thumb mark in it, the currywurst was actually quite nice but the bread was odd, almost rubbery sponge texture, seemed like it’d be under a heat lamp all day. The 5 pieces of chicken again seemed like they’d be warmed all day, really dry and really spicy, ended up with tummy ache. By the time we had realised our meals weren’t great my partner had already gone to take his back, to which the staff were like kids hiding and sniggering, was weird, manager was nice and she had it changed. Just didn’t feel professional at all, almost like they were playing shop, bizarre behaviour. The donut was okay though. Don’t really rate the quality of the food and would have preferred to go McDonald’s, kfc, Burger King or even costa tbh. Never been anywhere like it. Quite...

First try of the new Tim Hortons in Burnley… The wait instore is horrendous it’s a very small shop with a lot of people inside, self service saves this and timing it too to make two iced coffees and 6 donuts was surprisingly long but not forever. I use Starbucks a lot so slightly bias review but there’s a reason for this, coffee isn’t a thing here it’s just sweet fun drinks realistically and I’m not sure on the barista training but iced coffees aren’t usually whipped up to be frothy on top. Donuts are apparently Tim Hortons speciality but these were dry as sandpaper, guessing they’ve been left for a while then boxed up and given to us. In conclusion just go to Starbucks instead it’s on the next exit by the roundabout, you get a larger coffee and better cakes/food for the exact same price! 17£ for two iced small/medium coffees and 6 very dry donuts 👎

Tim Hortons (Burnley) has become a go to for me when it comes to completing my uni work. Its staff are very warm and welcoming and the environment itself is clean and inviting. The service provided by the staff is second to none, Unnati and Mazhar always look after me every time I visit and the rest of the staff always take time to strike up a conversation. The coffee and doughnuts complement each other and the food always seems to hit the spot whilst I’m studying. I’d highly recommend the Iced French Vanilla latte with the Old Fashioned Glazed doughnut and for food I’d recommend the Crispy Chicken Stack sandwich and the Veggie Breakfast wrap with a warm cup of Original Blend in the mornings.

BAD STENCH! I like Tim Horton's, and as someone who used to spend every summer in Canada, this was my 'go-to' place for breakfast. The problem with all the new UK locations is the strong smell of cooking oil that permeates throughout the entire building. It can be pretty bad in some locations, but it's worse here at Burnley. As soon as you sit down to drink your coffee, all you can taste is stale oil from the fried chicken sandwiches they're making in the back. If you leave with your coffee, that taste goes away, thus proving that it's the smell of the restaurant affecting your experience. My advice: buy the stuff but don't stay there. Good WiFi though. Extra star for that.
