Fu's- Block A, Doc Fictoria, Caernarfon LL55 1TH
We were looking forward to dining at a well-rated and cozy restaurant that doesn’t overload its food with preservatives or additives. That’s why we chose Fu’s Restaurant. We arrived at 9:40 PM and asked if it was still possible to eat. The staff said they were open until 11 PM and seated us.
The menu only listed dish names without any descriptions, which was an issue for me due to health conditions that require avoiding certain ingredients. I tried relying on guest-uploaded photos on Google to figure out what the dishes looked like. Meanwhile, the staff came to our table three times within 10 minutes, rushing us to decide.
Because the dish names weren’t clear to me, I asked whether the pork was tender and mentioned how difficult it was to choose without pictures. The waiter responded with little interest. We were then told the kitchen would close in 10 minutes, which pressured us into ordering quickly. I ended up choosing a mushroom-based dish almost reflexively.
When my lemonade arrived, I was surprised to find ice in it. The drink menu gave no indication that it would be served with ice, which matters to me as I shouldn’t drink cold beverages for medical reasons. Had that been clear, we would have asked for it without ice.
While waiting, a waitress wearing a very revealing outfit came to replace our plates. To my surprise, one of my plates literally came from under her chest, which was quite inappropriate and uncomfortable. Later, when the food was brought to the table, only my plate had sauce dripped on it, which seemed careless.
We also noticed something odd: one of the servers sat for most of the time at a nearby table, chatting with others. It wasn’t clear if she was working there or just a guest. But when we asked for salt and a knife, she brought them over — so apparently, she was part of the staff. That lack of clarity added to the strange overall impression.
To end the evening, my friend received a friendly goodbye — the server looked him in the eye and said goodbye kindly. However, when it was my turn, she turned her head away and didn’t say a word. That moment left me with a sense of discomfort and exclusion.
We left with a bitter taste — not just because the mediocre food itself, but because of how we were treated. As someone recovering from health issues, I had hoped for a respectful and relaxing dinner. Unfortunately, had we known how unprofessional and awkward the service would be, we would have gone elsewhere. The elegant outward appearance of the place turned out to...

🍴 Wonderful Food; Wonderful Restaurant 🍜: This place was really lovely, and probably one of Caernarfon’s little secrets that should not be kept. The restaurant is easy to get to, being on the docks of Caernarfon. It’s right across to the Premier Inn and Travelodge there, only a few doors away from Table Table.
As a Wheelchair User, I found the restaurant easy to get into, to navigate, and was seated easily (in my chair). As someone with ASD, I found the place easy to sit in, as it was quiet and fairly empty at the time (it was getting late), and although there was music, it was playing very quietly in the background. Also, the staff were unobtrusive but available and easy to talk to. I did not find them overwhelming, just quiet, reserved and relaxed, always on hand to help.
When it came to ordering, the extent of the menu was great, and that was something that could have been overwhelming, if I hadn’t looked at it beforehand, not only on their website but on a previous occasion that I’d been here. But the amount of different things also meant that even someone as finicky as myself could find things they liked on it. The waiting staff were also extremely helpful, and allowed changes to be made to menu items to make them more “me-friendly”, such as changing strong Szechuan sauce in the Chow Mein to the blander Oyster Sauce.
The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. I enjoyed all of it, my coffee was also nice, as was my companion’s “Candy Cane” cocktails (which came with a real strawberry and an actual mini candy cane on the side of the glass!). At the end, when we could eat no more, they quite happily and readily boxed the leftovers into containers and gave them to us in a plastic carrier bag, as a doggy-bag takeout. Basically, for the money, we had even ended up with two days’ worth of food, which wasn’t bad.
It’s also worth noting that they’re also a take-away, and you can call beforehand and pick up your order To-Go later (or by the time you’ve gone down, to get it from your hotel room across the alleyway). The details of this are all on...
Read moreWe pre-booked a table of 20, and when we got there no table was ready for us and we were all sat separately. This was not stipulated when we booked. However, after talking to the the staff they agreed to put the tables together. Unfortunately, soon after we sat down the manager said that we were not allowed to do this, so once again we were moved on to separate table. We all got the banquet b as we thought it would be easier. It took 30 mins for the drinks to arrive, the beer was flat and so was the diet coke. Soups was brought out at around the 40 minute mark, however it was awful. The chicken and sweetcorn was salty and I found a piece of grizzly in it. The hot and sour soup taste like they had used the harbour water! Fishy taste and had no desirable flavour to the soup. The staff was not attentive at all, there was 3 staff standing washing dishes and not one of them came to check if we needed a drink. We had to go to them to get soy sauce and chilli oil. The service is the worst I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The food was disgusting. We ended up leaving before our mains arrived. When trying to explain our issues, he tried to blame us! He definitely needs to change his attitude! They should not accept a large group if they could not cater for us. We ended up paying for what we had eaten and then left. None of us enjoyed what we had ate and felt very uncomfortable within the environment. Overall, the worst Chinese restaurant we have ever been to. We ended up eating at a lovely Indian restaurant who was keen to have use and was keen to have our money! Over all I would not recommend this overpriced Chinese to anyone. The service we explained definitely explained the prices! Awful food, in a prime location, so they must hike up the...
