I liked staying here. A beautiful place, (I like to think quaint but not in the truest sense😉), with a lot of history and character to it-now I am going on about the location. The warm hospitality of the hosts/owners was enjoyable and it felt like home for the most parts. The breakfast menu was okay, really. The spread (depending on what one orders) was tasty. One can count on a big brekkie especially, if the full English breakfast is what is ordered. There's a vegetarian option too. While guests have to go out for lunch and dinner as need be, cooked food (not sure how.to explain this, takeouts/takeaways) is not allowed upstairs in the bedroom neither one get a reheat/microwave service, perfectly understandable. A very neat place, well kept. Our room generously upgraded by the hosts and as our stay elongated, we enjoyed some more discounts. They're also very COVID-19 conscious & compliant, one foot outside your room door and your face mask has to be on, there are hand sanitizers all strategically placed within the property. The service was on point. If I have reasons to be in Caernarfon, I will gladly stay here again.

We had such a lovely stay here! The hosts were fantastic, the food was delicious, and we felt incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. We stayed in Room 8, which I imagine is one of the best—stunning views of the sea and the historic walls. The location is very central, and the parking permit made things so easy. We’re visiting from New Zealand and absolutely loved our time here. Highly recommended!

The owners Karen and Mark were amazing hosts! We managed to reserve the newly refurbished, top floor sea view, double room with ensuite. It was well decorated keeping the traditional features but with a modern twist.

The ensuite has a large shower cubicle with a powerfull shower. The hosts also supplied the bathroom with shower gel and shampoo, cotton buds and face wipes. Little touches that really make a difference.

The room was very bright as the window is massive allowing you to have a perfect view of the water. There was a dresser which had a kettle, tea, coffee and galaxy hot chocolate with a small selection of biscuits - all of very good quality.

The bed was super comfortable! The pillows were so good that I meant to ask them where they bought them. (I'll need to text and ask after this review!)

Karen & Mark set out complimentary tea, coffee and a cake/snack for their guests between 2-5pm every day and Karen made homemade scones which were delicious! This is very sweet and it really does add to the excellent customer service they already provide. Breakfast was between 8-9.30am and it was cooked to perfection! The portion sizes were very generous and the quality of the food was excellent, setting us up for the day ahead. They also offer various options for specific dietary requirements too.

We also had a little last minute issue with our bunny sitter and Karen and Mark were very understanding and even though they are a no pet b&b on this occasion they allowed us to bring Bella along on the conditions she wasn't left to rome around. We packed her cage and she had a lovely relaxing time too!

We would most definately use Cear Menai B&B again and will recommend to anyone we know visiting Caernarfon.

A massive thank you to Karen & Mark for making our trip to...

I couldn't speak highly enough of this accommodation. Caer Menai is the most delightful guesthouse with tasteful décor, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast, spotlessly clean, helpful and polite host and inside the walls of the old town. On the ground floor there is a shared lounge area and breakfast room. A hot breakfast is included. Bedrooms are on the second and third floor. We had a room on the third floor. Lots of stairs but well worth it and we felt we had the best room and a lovely view over the wall to the river. The only way to approach the guesthouse by car is via the gate on the corner of Cei Bank and Church Streets. Caer Menai is only a short distance on your right. Look for the yellow building. There is free street parking near Caer Menai, however we never saw any spots become available. There are also some free bays just beyond the Sailing Club, near where you enter the gates, otherwise the host will provide you with a free voucher for parking just five minutes walk away. Park at the far end from the entrance if using this option as there is a path that leads you back to Cei Bank street. There are plenty of dining options in the area however some require a booking as they get busy and some are closed on Mondays. Caernarfon Castle is a short walk away. We preferred walking around the outside of the wall as there is a lovely view over the river. In the town (Castle) square you will find a convenience store, pharmacy, cafes, post office and ATM. We spent two nights but could have spent longer as the location proved central to other areas...

You can tell Neil takes pride in making sure all of his guest's receive 5* service.|The rooms are emulated and very clean and have so much character to the bedrooms and downstairs in the other rooms.|The bedrooms were a very good size with your own separate shower cubicle. Also, we had a kettle with a great range of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and different types of biscuits. A mini fridge filled with bottles of water and fresh milk. The smart tv in the bedroom has access to sign into your own Netflix and Amazo n accounts.|A great variety of hot and cold breakfast options for everyone. The breakfast menu had Welsh fry up, pancakes, cereal, fruit, toast, yoghurts, muffins and other options. The food was great quality!|The location is amazing with everything on your doorstep. The area is very laid back and very relaxing atmosphere.|What more can we say, apart from, we felt absolutely gutted to leave this beautiful guest house.
