We were looking for a place to go regularly for Sunday lunch as our normal pub, the Rose & Crown Eglwysilan has closed due to the landlord and his wife retiring. Looking round we thought the King's Arms would become our new haunt. So disappointed with the food and service!

I ordered the Topside of beef Sunday lunch and my husband had the chicken breast. When it arrived, the gravy was in individual gravy boats. The skin on it was so thick that when we tried to pour it on the food it refused to come out. We pointed this out and they were taken back to the kitchen. We then had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for them to bring fresh gravy, by which time the veg we were eating while waiting were luke warm. Even worse was the beef - not slices from a joint but one thick steak and a scrap of very thin meat which had been grilled so it was dry tough and burned while the thick piece was tough and also tasted of burny bits though a bit red inside. I was not given a steak knife and needed my husband to cut most of it for me. No one returned to the table to ask if everything was ok. Looking back we should have just asked for our money back, but when the poor girl came to collect the dirty dishes we told her what was wrong. She said she would tell the manager. No one came to apologise. I can understand now why there were so few people in there and only one other couple eating while we were there. Had the manager apologised, we would not have asked for the money back and, who knows, we might have given them another chance, but lesson learned. Never again will we...

Heres The History. The King's Arms is a historic pub located in the town of Caerphilly in South Wales. The pub has a rich history, having been open for over 200 years. It is believed to have first opened its doors in the early 1800s.

Over the years, the King's Arms has had several previous owners, each leaving their mark on the pub in different ways. One of the most significant owners was a man named William Watkins, who ran the pub during the mid-1800s. Watkins was a popular and well-respected figure in the community, and he helped to establish the King's Arms as a hub of social activity in Caerphilly.

Another significant historical event associated with the King's Arms occurred in the 1940s during World War II. The pub was a popular spot for locals and soldiers stationed nearby, and it was known for its lively atmosphere and sense of community. However, during the war, the King's Arms was hit by a bomb during an air raid, causing significant damage to the building. Despite the damage, the pub was rebuilt and continued to serve as a popular gathering place for many years to come.

Today, the King's Arms is still a thriving pub, known for its cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent selection of food and drink. Whether you're looking for a quiet pint with friends or a lively night out, the King's Arms is a great place to visit and soak up some of the history and tradition of this beloved...

Couldn't find a number on the table for mobile order. Menu and app don't seem to show same menu. Just very confusing. Smokers kept locking themselves outside and banging on the door asking to be let in multiple times. We ordered double burgers yet they burgers only arrived with a single patty. Asked sever where the other meat patty is. The women said she would go check for us. Instead we see her outside vaping. She comes back in and is just chatting to the other male staff member. Was missing garlic dip and mango chutney with curry. Was waiting for the server to come back like they said they would so that i cpuld ask them to bring it out. Obviously they were too busy chatting amongst themselves at the front counter. By this point we are already almost finished and need to leave. We ask the staff afterwards was there only supposed to be one meat patty ad the menu says they ate double burgers. He says the kitchen are doing bigger single burgers instead of double because of new menu or something blah blah blah. He says everyone asks why there is only one meat patty. If that is the case then why didn't the server know and tell us instead of fricking leaving us to go vape and never returning?! Floors are sticky.

This place is like a spoons but with worse...

Hi I ordered from your burger place on just eat and I am appalled with the food and service. My 2 burgers were completely wrong and I was missing chips. I phoned the restaurant and spoke to Charlie who was nothing but rude. She told me there was absolutely nothing they can do and advised me to re order and re pay. When I am not guaranteed a refund through just eat. What we did have was awful. The burgers were literally burnt to a crisp. And the chips in the tray were literally less than half full. All I wanted was to give the 2 wrong burgers back and have the 2 correct ones I ordered. Although after eating what we did receive I will never want to eat from here again which is a shame.

Nice in eating area with friendly staff. Food was hot but the beer battered fish was just awful. It started off fine but about half way through it became watery, greasy, and bland. I could not eat it and left with a stick of gum in my mouth desperately trying to erase the memory of it! I could not use the loos as 1 seat was broken, another had the remnants of blood smeared on the seat and another one looked like it had feaces on the outside of the bowl. The last cubicle was a no go as it was so small I would have had to press myself against the loo to get in and there was no way on this earth would I do that after what I saw😨😨😨
