The Golden Hind Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in Calderdale

There are a couple of very nasty, malicious individuals employed by this establishment. They have the unique distinction of being the only people who have ever reported me to the police for 'trying a car door' in the 56 years I have been alive. I suppose they prefer spreading juicy gossip to telling the truth, but the boring fact is I was walking round Brighouse with the nasty feeling I'd forgot to lock my car, so I went back and 'tried it'. They can't have been very busy, because in order to have seen my car from their place, they must have been right up against the window, looking out at rightangles, or standing outside.

They also told the police I was 'hanging around outside their premises'. That's because I was thinking about eating there and was trying to see their menu and prices and see what their restaurant is like, i.e. weighing it up against a rival establishment.

Had any decent person made false accusations to the police, they would've come out to me apologising profusely and offering me a free meal, but of course we're not talking about decent, reasonable...

Asked for steak and kidney pudding with chips and received pie and chips. I don’t like pie so couldn’t eat it. The chips were the biggest joke EVER. Both my husband and I received what looked like a child size portion. NOT EVEN A HANDFUL OF CHIPS. It looked like students were running the place but were too busy talking, and not concentrating as I found before. We also asked for salt and vinegar. When we got them back there wasn’t one grain of salt on them nor vinegar so tasted bland and dry. This has happened before and weve let things go where they’ve totally missed things off the order. I doubt we’ll be go there again. If we hadn’t have been staying at a hotel at the time I’d have taken them back into the fish shop because this need addressing. It’s happened too many times now the student working there are obviously getting away with it. TOTALLY...

??? What is going on. Last Friday got a chip butty and a fishcake butty 10/10 Went tonight friday 7th March and got fish & chips and fishcake butty for the wife. Absolutely shocking her fishcake today the batter was black inside so over cooked and the fish was rock hard ?? Was it a re-warm from dinner I don't know but she said I can't eat it so binned it. My fish batter in places was so overcooked and the fat end of the fish my batter was soooo thick and inside of it was like wall paper paste I bit the batter and grease just oozed in my mouth. People work had to get a takeaway treat now & then. This was by far NOT a treat by any means. There's 2 other chip shops in brighouse if they continue like this they WILL...
