Rudy's Pizza Napoletana - Cambridge — Restaurant in Cambridge

I want to preface this review by saying that the food is excellent and that this is probably the best of the big pizza restaurants in Cambridge for Neapolitan pizza. This review is more so for the service, which was very underwhelming.

After having a look at the menu, it took around 5-10 minutes of waiting and trying to get the staff’s attention before we were actually served (in a restaurant that was half empty). On top of that, the staff member provided incorrect information about what was on the pizza when asked about certain ingredients.

Additionally, the restaurant seemingly prides itself on having an optional service charge, but honestly, if you’re going to print it on the receipt and add it to the bill where we have to ask for it to be taken off, then it makes more sense to not advertise it. I would much rather if they gave me the option to tip instead for situations where the service was subpar like today.

New Pizza Restaurant

There are quite a lot of pizza restaurants in the Cambridge town centre already. The nearby rival is Pizza Pilgrims.

There were generous amount of fillings on the pizzas. It's thin crust pizzas.

I think a single pizza is a bit too large for a person. Large pizza takes longer time to finish. As a result the edge of the pizza became chewy at the second half of your eating. Easily cool down before finishing too.

So it would be better to provide smaller size options.

The restaurant was bigger than I expected. It's a clean place so far. The staff were friendly.

This time the Rudy's pizzas had plenty of fillings. But who knows, Pizza Pilgrims gave customers much less filling a year after. Stir Bakery too, the pastries' quality and quantity dropped a lot a year after...

Never tried Rudy’s before and I do not understand how they took so long to open in Cambridge! Best pizza option in town by far! I ordered the salsiccia pizza… intense flavours.. I got the good choice to add burrata on my pizza… unless you don’t like cheese this should be mandatory… so tasty and good amount of ingredients. I tend to do not order any desert but Jack told us the brownie was homemade and we ordered one to share… such a bad decision as we should have ordered one each!
