This is a beautiful pub with a good selection of beers, unfortunately let down by a lack of organisation.

You sit at a numbered table and have a QR code for a menu, but there is no table service which would make things a lot easier.

So you remember what you and your friends want, go to the bar, and then discover there are two or even three queues, and people sitting at the adjacent table number 7 just getting up and pushing in. It's not clear what exactly you're meant to do, queue or just find a space.

This creates a bottleneck with people finding it hard to leave or enter the pub.

When you get to the bar, you are told that 'the menu is out of date and they haven't had time to update it' so you have to change your order and look at the bar, under pressure, to choose different drinks. It's all a bit chaotic.

I know these are difficult times for the hospitality industry due to Covid-19 and Brexit but I would recommend reviewing the menu, layout and processes and maybe hire some more staff. Perhaps even have a secondary, smaller bar in the back area.

I ordered a pie, which was delicious, but I asked for mushy peas and they came with regular. Not a big deal but the man at the bar made a point of offering me options when I ordered.

A shame as this is a lovely place and could do so...

I’ve eaten here several times before over the years. The beer range and quality has always been great.. The first time was an amazing dining experience. Then it gradually got worse and worse to mediocre pub food in limited hours. Today a friend and I saw there was a limited burger menu available and decided to order. Ordering was a bit of a palaver via the qr code. However when the food arrived it was amazing. Possibly the best burger I have ever eaten. The spiced fries were really, really good as well. The who.e meal was reasonably priced. Service was really quick. I don’t say this lightly - I am a chef and make burgers myself. That I was able to produce something as good. Our beers, as always, were good.

Returned to try a different burger. The ordering process is far too awkward - took me 20+ minutes - but I have just heard the barman tell a couple he can fetch someone if they are struggling. Today’s burger wasn’t as amazing as last week’s (not surprising given how amazing it was) but was still very good and great...

I like the place , like the selection of the beer , even the burger , and beer garden

BUT I had bad experience , while we waiting in the queue ,may be the bar staff didn’t notice us and serve others instead of us , we just try raise awareness ‘politely’ and we get shout at, and was threat not to be serve ?! it was so embarrassing , the guests who got the drink before us came to apologised to us?!

I believe it could be dealt much better on the spot by just show some awareness or a bit sense of humour , after all it is pub for god sake , but no apology was given at the night so sadly like some beer , it left a bitter taste

I can see that the bar staff was under lots of pressure , there was only 1 staff dealt with queue of thirsty cactus like customers , may be the bar didnt recruit enough people at busy hour , so the stress build up , but in the end , I think we were so polite and should...

Very nice pub, good food, decent selection of ciders, a big garden. We were looking for a place to grab a bite and get drinks on Sunday afternoon, went to a couple of pubs in area - at one place they didn’t serve any food at 6pm, at another they didn’t have a table for six people. The Cambridge Blue was the the third place we went to, and third time WAS a charm 😊 My Smashed Burger was tasty, loaded fries were garlicky and flavorful and the fuzzy cider I ordered was, well, fuzzy and cold. There is a big outdoor garden/patio, which is especially nice when one intends to enjoy a summer afternoon together with friends 🥰 Tip: One can’t order drinks together with food. For food, scan a QR code at the table and leave a lot of personal info (mail, name, phone) to pay for the yummies 😂 For drinks, order at the counter.

One of the best pubs in Cambridge if not the best run by knowledgeable staff as well. Situated off Gwydir Street roughly 10 min walk from the train station. It boasts a vast array of bottled beers (all well kept and priced), craft beers (12), cask ales (14), ciders (7), and spirits as well as soft drinks. It has a lovely back garden which is a real sun trap and also has a very friendly Robin. Also has an undercover area for those who like shade. Smoking and vaping is permitted in the garden but not under cover. Food is run by a separate company called Gorilla and Lamb. I can recommend the hot dogs, chicken wings and especially the Hearts of Romaine. Well worth a visit if you're in Cambridge.
