Dean's Plaice — Restaurant in Canterbury

So after being disappointed by another fish and chip in the town and discarding the fish and chips rather sharply I was still craving some fish and chips and i thought I wouldn’t give up that easy on wanting fish and chips so I decided to grab some fish and chips from deans plaice. On first impression it was very smart and tidy , the staff were busy but very welcoming . The prices are what you’d come to expect in finding a decent fish and chips of which in think I’d good value for money although it is on the higher end of pricing The fish tasted great , not soaking in oil and was just a good battered fish , chips were okay could have a slight more crisp to them , portion wise chips were not bad I did have a large I thought there was enough but some might say you could add a few more in there especially paying for a large portion . Probably the best fish and chip shop in hernebay , so if your in herne bay and fancy some fish and chips pop in and grab yourself some . For more food content follow me on socials...

Had a meal at Deans Plaice today with my husband and daughter. She had chicken burger we had cod and chips. My fish was disgusting. I cut into it and it was very watery. The centre looked very under cooked. I left most of it. When the waitress came for our plates my husband told her about the fish. He pointed out the fish I had left and the fact it looked uncooked. She said she would tell the chef. He watched her. She did call the chef to the back of the shop and he saw her show the chef my fish. What he did next is so wrong. He just shrugged his shoulders. When we came to pay nothing was mentioned and we were charged full price. My husband didn't tell what the chef did until we were out of there. We have been to this shop many times but will never eat there again. His attitude stinks. Just be warned he obviously thinks nothing of the people that keep him...

"Something Very Fishy going on here" £16 for small cod and chips to eat in we are a family of 9 and that's 6 adults and 3 children 2 of the children had kids meals,1 adult just had cheesy chips and a gerkin another adult sausage and chips, 6 adults all had a can of drink and 1 child had a bottle of water the children's meals came with a juice. There were 3 mushy peas and 2 curry sauces. The bill was £160. The fish was disgusting it was definitely not cod. It was very grey in colour and very strong, fishy, tasting fish like whitebait. (Obviously not whitebait) just that taste. We will not be returning and would advise others to avoid it. It was overpriced and not as described.
