Sketch and Sip — Restaurant in Carlisle

Quirky and cute little venue in town. I really like the concept of arts & crafts accompanied with a light meal. That being said, it would be a wonderful idea to provide some sort of hand wipes for the tables as it is rather unhygienic to eat a cake with paint-covered fingers. There are many artistic activities to try & workshops to be inspired by; I do think a lot of it is orientated towards children which is great if you want something to do as a family. The sweet treats were delicious, really liked the Oreo shortcake, interesting variety of drinks to try, the savoury food selection is a little basic however. My friend has a dairy intolerance and ordered a drink with alternative milk, but unfortunately because she forgot to inform the staff of this they brought her the drink with whipped cream on top, so I would recommend making it clear if you have any food allergies before ordering. My son and I were out for a stroll round Carlisle today and came across Sketch and Sip and thought we'd give it a try. We are so glad we did. It has a great, cool and modern vibe, colourful and comfortable, even the bathrooms are decorated in a fun way. There's a good range of drinks, hot, cold, alcoholic and enticing sweet and savoury food. We tried the french pizza bread and it was an ideal lunchtime dish. The staff were lovely. There are books to read, games to play and art kits with instructions to buy and do as well as little free colouring sheets on the tables. I imagine it's a great place to meet friends with kids. There's a shop with local crafters and creatives work and various craft supplies all at very reasonable prices compared to other craft shops in the area. Hi came here yesterday and am disappointed I usually come here quite often but yesterday when I came at around one we sat at a reserved table and ORDERD asap the food took 45 minutes to come leaving us with 15 minutes to eat our food they came repeatedly and told us we have 10 minutes and needed to hurry up it rolled around to 2 pm and they kicked us out and we DIDDNT finish eating out food my friend wasn’t even half way done they had the manager to come out and kick us out I understand if it is a reserved table but there was people in front us who were sat on the reserved table and they were still sat down and were able to continue with there food if the food came earlier we would of been out by 2 and the ladies...
