Amazingly wonderful delicious venue, I actually followed my nose here and was further enticed in by the homey chic wood and black interior and smiling gentleman behind the counter. Plenty of places to sit, the place was clean and cared for, the menu wasn't overwhelming and if you didn't want something that came with the choice of meal you are pleasantly offered an alternative accompaniment. The food, generous portions served in a take away cardboard box which is packed with enough to happily fill anyone's belly and allow you an easy take-home option if you can't fit it all in one sitting. The pulled shoulder of pork in apple sauce (I substituted apple sauce for red cabbage) and a big pour of gravy was delicious and just the right amount portion wise even if I did have to resort to attacking it with a knife and fork so it was a delectably messy encounter! My companion ordered the open Yorkshire shredded turkey breast and thigh served with pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce with red cabbage, potatoes and green beans as trimmings which they enjoyed more than a pig in muck. The owner was lovely and engaged in conversation about himself, the place and genuinely interested in conversation which was nice. Lots to love about this place if you are wanting to dive in and out, order on line or just want to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying some hearty eats. Will definitely...
Read moreThis is a new family run business inspired by their own home cooked Sunday Roasts. You won't be disappointed. My first visit this evening with my family. We all opted for a Yorkshire Wrap - a large fabulous flat Yorkshire Pudding with choice of generous hearty fillings. I mentioned my childhood favourite of Yorkshire Pudding and Marmite only to be advised there happened to be a jar in the fridge...so my choice of filling was pulled pork and Marmite. It was amazing and perfectly filling. The other options chosen and thoroughly enjoyed by the family This evening included the turkey and stuffing with a gallon of gravy, and pulled pork, stuffing, and apple sauce. Hot and cold drinks, and milkshakes are also served. Very good value for money. There's some seating available if desired. I will definitely be returning to try the roasted potatos and pigs in blankets.
Return visit made today (01/12/2022). A pork and cranberry Yorkshire Wrap and an open Yorkshire with beef and the usual trimmings. We chose to eat in today, too. Absolutely fantastic food. Superb value for money.
There are now some tables and chairs available inside and outside to enjoy the Cumbria Roast's...
Read moreI was so disappointed, I was really looking forward to eating here. We stopped in tonight and ordered to take out, the place looked ok and it smelt nice when we walked in. We ordered 2 turkey deep Yorkshires and one roast pork. The food wasn’t very good and got the first time in my foodie life lol I didn’t eat it nor did the rest of my party, the Turkey was so dry we couldn’t eat it, the stuffing was wet and wasn’t cooked, roast potatoes were stale but just to make it all the worst the star of the show the Yorkshire pudding tasted like freezer burn 🤷♀️. Complete waste of money wish we would have had a roast dinner at Brewers Fayre to be honest. The young man that served us seemed nice enough I guess that’s the...
