This was my first time trying Creed, as my boyfriend has recommended many times in the past.
5:40 pm We walked In and seated ourselves, after figuring out what we wanted I went up to the girl behind the till to order. I asked for a chicken club sandwich but for some odd reason she said they stopped serving that sandwich past 4:30pm and I can only order a burger, bowl or salad.. With that I decided to go for a burger, a kebab, diet coke and water.... She read back our order and I went to sit down to wait for our drinks. After about 5 min my boyfriend figured we had to get our own drinks over by the till in the small cooler, so I did... 5 more minutes passed and the girl at the till came over with a glass of water for me and I realised then she didn't charge me for the bottle of water I got and said I had to be charged for that... I said sure but she walked away and then came back 5ish minutes later asking if we were going to pay for the water.. In which I said yeh ill get coffee later on and add the water to my bill...
Many other customers walked in during our time waiting for our food... About 4 to 5 tables ordered and within 15 mins had gotten their food.. Eaten and left.... My boyfriend and I kept looking at each other asking one another where our food could have gone to? Maybe to Another table or maybe our order was never even put through? It wasn't even busy and we were sitting for about 50 minutes with our food order sign clearly visible, no worker questioned or cared to look or ask what was going on with our food?? They just talked to one another behind the counter and kept spraying down the displays and taking cake out.. Odd.
Finally my boyfriend got up to politely ask where our order was... We were told the burger we ordered takes 25 minutes to cook... My boyfriend said yeh but its been 45-50 minutes and the employee apologised and ran back to check on our food.... She came back very apologetic asking if she could get us coffee... I mean we haven't eaten all day and we were waiting 50 mins for our food, coffee wouldn't be doing us any good. About 6ish mins later we finally got our food and I do have to say it was good.. But not worth the long wait unfortunately..
After we ate we did want a coffee and a piece of cake to go so we went back to queue to order from the same girl at the till. This to go order didn't go very smoothly either, with another long wait and having to repeat what I ordered 3-5 times to 3 different employees (dark haired waitress was good and got the order sorted quickly after she saw we were waiting again). Blonde waitress was also flabbergasted that I asked for a to-go box for our leftovers from the main meal.
All in all.. Odd service and odd ordering system just all a bit off and disconnected from their customers.
Thank you to the dark-haired waitress who did try and smooth things over, you were very sweet and Creed needs more employees like you.
If the owner responds with excuses or a snarky comment as I've seen in other people's reviews I guess that speaks volumes as this is just...
Read moreI want to do an update on my review from a year ago. Unfortunately my most recent experience has really put me off coming again. There were some young ladies serving who could do with some training in customer service. They were most unhelpful and had very sullen expressions. They didn't have several of the options my friend wanted eg bagel (at 12.30!) I ordered chai tea but was told they had runout and I joked that I should check what else they were out of before deciding on my order- I was glared at and she snapped'well what do you want" !! my friend at this stage gave up on ordering food and just ordered a cappuccino. At the seating area, the sun was very bright so my friend asked one of these young ladies if the blinds could be pulled down. she replied "I'll ask" and never returned. We then noticed the blinds aren't there any more which is a shame as it was really helpful when they were installed. There was a young man also on duty who was very pleasant when we spoke with him and another gentleman on duty has always been very nice too- I wish it had been either of them serving us. These girls gave the impression they didn't want to be there and wished we weren't there too! The whole experience really put me off - and there are plenty of alternatives to go to in Carrickfergus. I do hope someone in management notices this review and implements some basic customer service training with the staff as it's a real shame their attitude has soured my impression of a previously favourite spot.
Another great coffee spot in Carrick. You can preorder your drink to pick up via their app?( I need to double check the process as I haven't done that) which is great. They have tinted the window which faces onto the road which is very helpful as the sun hits that side - much more comfortable for the customer. Very pleasant staff and today we managed to get the lovely seats with multicoloured fabric which are not only very cool but comfortable ( quite a number of the seats at tables are very uncomfortable I find for an old crock like me but there are a number of soft seats as well- choose carefully if you need comfort like me). The only negative I have is the artwork - the brooding, dark , menacing men in flat caps do not enhance my experience but I guess that's personal opinion and I'll just try to not look their way lol) On the plus side there is a wide ranging menu and lots of...
Read moreDisgraceful Service! There is a queue for a reason!
Went down here at 1.30pm so the place was busy with lots of people in for lunch. Waited in the queue to get a table. Once we reached the front of the queue, a staff member wearing a face mask asked if were waiting on a table and we said yes, and she said there would be a short wait. Then 3 men and a small child entered behind us and asked us if we were waiting on a table to which we replied we were and they took their place in the queue behind us. A different staff young member without a face mask greeted them (and obviously knew them by the way they interacted) and said 'are yous looking a table? No worries i see if i can get you one quickly' or something along those lines, which immediately raised our suspicions that they would get seated first.
A few minutes later a table becomes available, and the young staff member, walks past us and shows that group to that table. We were immediately disgusted that she had given her friends a table before us! Why have a queue if the staff are just going to blatantly help their friend jump it?? The first server who greeted us also seemed to realise this had happened as she appeared to have a quiet word with her fellow staff member. We then asked to a speak to whoever was in charge, and made our complaint. The young staff member came over a started saying that they had 'booked a table', even though this was never mentioned in the conversation between herself and the 3 men when they group came in, and wouldn't explain why they were waiting behind us in the queue in the first place? First thing they would have done when they arrived was to say 'Hello, we have a table booked for 1.30', but that never happened! Sounded more like she knew she had been caught and was just trying to cover herself!
Anyway we immediately left and wont be back, and this is a shame as we did like this coffee house! The worst part is that that staff member has basically gotten away with this, and will probably get off with a 'don't do that again 'comment from her colleagues. In hindsight we should have asked that group if they had booked or to see the evidence of their booking in their system! That would have caught them out!! You cant just bunk your friends to the front of the queue, bypassing other...
