Springsteens Diner — Restaurant in Carrickfergus

What can I say, I have eaten at this establishment countless times since it's doors opened, I have quite a bias fondness of the place, but I am honest about places even if I love them dearly or not, so here goes!

The food (for me) is always clean, you know, never greasy, never ugly looking, It's just always clean .... if you want a dirty, stinkin' greasy fry (which, admit it, we all want from time to time) you will NOT get it here, no, here you will get a delicious, clean belly filling fry .... and not only that you can get the Monster fry here, which is not to be mistaken with some kind of new age "challenge" breakfast, it is just an honest hungry persons kind of breakfast.

I may have gone on a bit about the fry here, but seriously this place makes a darn good fry :-)

As for dinner options this place has you covered, from the mighty sweet chilli chicken, to the gut busting burgers (chicken or beef) with the heavenly criss-cross fries as a side option .... my goodness I'm salivating just typing this review.

But yeah, to round this up, I give Springsteens of Carrickfergus (I can not remark on the other branches) two thumbs up :-)

I absolutely love to come to Springsteens Diner, whenever my partner and I travel to Ireland. This has to be our favourite restaurant over here. However, for over 20 years they have been serving American based food and I cannot be disappointed.

Firstly, credit goes to the fabulous team that work here. You make everything easy and taste delicious. In addition, i love how everything about the lay out and how it feels home-like.

Secondly, the food was perfect! Most of the food items come with a side (read the menu to make sure). I got myself “the firebird burger” and the bacon mac and cheese. The burger was really good and was well constructed and the mac and cheese was creamy and such a delightful meal.

Finally, their current cocktail of the week a mango, peach and strawberry daiquiri was absolutely beautiful! Not just from presentation but with blasting taste too!

I come to this restaurant quite frequently and I always order the chilli chicken with garlic fries and it’s always really lovely. However I haven’t been to the restaurant in about two months. Me and my boyfriend decided to go tonight and I ordered the same as usual, however this time the chilli sauce had a very weird taste and smell almost like chemicals I literally ate 1 piece of chicken and left the other five as it was covered in the sauce. I told the manger when I was going to pay and she made a point of going down to check my plate to see if I had ate any of it which majority of it was still there bar the piece I ate and yes I had eaten my fries, she explained that the sauce had changed and that’s why. I think her customer service was extremely poor and usually a manger would say the customer is always right and offer so form of compensation.
