Poppy's Café — Restaurant in Castle Point

So i had never heard of this cafe until family mentioned it to me and I decided to take a little visit to see it for myself, and wow - I wasn’t disappointed! On arrival, the staff greeted me and I was able to choose my own table. The decor was cozy and the table was spotlessly clean. Immediately I was asked if I’d like a drink and that was before I had even sat down, hah! My drink arrived quickly - freshly squeezed orange juice, that is LITERALLY squeezed in a machine in front of you. I then picked up an American breakfast - affordable and tasty. Great syrupy pancakes, AMAZING HASH BROWNS. Bacon and sausage was good too. The food literally took less than three minutes to arrive from ordering. The staff always had a smile on their face and answered some questions that we all had. I’ll make sure i get the chance to come back here. Two entrances too, meaning you can stroll in from the Aldi car...

We had lunch here. Popped in due to convenience. Clean And the waitress was nice and eager. Establishment was busy. Coffee and latte were good. Food Order was incorrect. It was taken back and corrected.

On a serious note. The food was mediocre. My friend rated it 3.5 out of 10. He was saying it had no flavour and bland. I had a BLT roll I also felt it was a sad roll. Rather bland. No mayo on offer. Food was prompt.

The trio at the till asked for feedback and were then awkward about my response with excuses. We were short for time and I had to ask for the bill 3 times as I did not want a confrontation. No apologies for the mix up earlier. It came up to £18+.

Recommended by a few of my friends so I decided to pop in on Thursday to give it a try, I had the chicken shish which came with chips, salad, coleslaw, boiled rice and homemade chilli sauce, it was absolutely delicious, the chicken was succulent, cooked perfectly and I could not fault a single thing from the food, price and service, I'll be popping in on Saturday to try a breakfast.

Updated: Popped in for breakfast (sat) and it was delicious, getting toast/bread, tea/coffee included in the price also made it great value for money, the staff are really nice and friendly too so I would 100%...
