The food is very good. The steak was on point . The onion loaf on the side was lovely. The salad, lacked a bit of seasoning, just few drops of balsamic finger. I think I bit of extra virgin olive oil could have done the trick. The reduced wine sauce.. was simply flawless. The steak knife, bit too large and not sharp. The service: Not great. I waited for maybe 20 minutes before the waitress noticed my plate was empty and I was waiting for the next course. Then, when I asked for dessert menu, she didn’t bring it. Instead, she brought me cream brûlée straight away. She said sorry thought you ordered this! I Said how??! I didn’t even have the menu. She offered to take it back but I said its fine just keep it, I didn’t want to wait again. ( by the way she attended to the table next to me, they finished maybe 10 minutes after me, she went up removed their plates and served the m their next course, somehow, though I was next to them I was invisible to her🫥. ( it was not fully packed or extremely busy ) Atmosphere is lovely. - 1 star because the floor in toilet was not clean and sticky Also an error was made with bill, but the manager apologized and problem got fixed straight away before I even communicated to them! this is a complement to the staff for their high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Overall, was happy with my experience. happy how the one of the staff handled the mistake with the bill with professionalism. Not happy about the slow service between main and dessert.

Well what can I say I took my son out for his 19th birthday here and what an absolute shambles, first off he had I'd but couldn't get served but we were fine about and ordered food my 20oz steak was cold and the garlic butter they put on there didn't even melt, it was extremely chewy and so was the fat I really expected for it to melt in my mouth for £41 also not Shure what the quarter cut lettuce was about in a bowl with sauce on 🙈 the fries came out stone cold and dehydrated when I asked where these frozen the response was (I'm not allowed to say) with a smirk totally inedable. When I told the manager this she was understanding I'll give them that, but instead off talking away the food like any other restaurant would they just left it there on the table in front of me 🙈. Food aside what really got on my nerves was the two employees to my right who sat next to us eating their lunch one had a tupperware box and they where feeding each other, not something you want to see when your out for a nice family meal at a restaurant but what really wound me up was seeing another staff member eating a Greg's pasty out of the wrapper, your sat their eating your food, "that's not cheap" at a restaurant with staff members all around you eating out of plastic containers and eating from wrapper's shocking staff behaviour well definitely will not be going back their again id definitely avoid this place food is frozen and staff use it as their own personal canteen shocking ohhh yeah photo in pictures of staff eating food next to me and my family 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈😡😡😡😡

First visit in a few years and we will not be returning ⛔. We had prebooked a table weeks before for 8.30pm. Arrived 8 pm advised reception desk who said "I will find you a table at 8.30pm,come back then" Sat in bar area whilst waiting where meals were also being served. The restaurant is modern and tastefully decorated. Both sections of toilets were disgusting and there are "yellow slippery floor signs" at both entrances to both toilet sections which served as a warning to entering womens and mens toilets with very wet floors with wet toilet seats, toilet papers around toilets base on the floors which became worse through the night. Server's were very busy, whilst we were grateful to the server who had come into work on her night off, this also explained why it took so long to be served. Our drinks had not arrived when our starters were served. Prompting our server remedied this, who apologised. Main meals were served and I had the lobster tail in addition to the Ribeye Steak . The ribeye was cooked to medium perfectly however the lobster was tough, dry and difficult to remove from the shell which explained a couple of hours later: an adverse urgent stomach complaint ☣️. Comparing the photographs of my lobster compared to Ruth's previous review my lobster does not look juicy & succulent. No tips for service, only tip is we are not returning to this restaurant.

Went to Miller & Carter in Cardiff today for the 1st time in ages and the last time. We were sat at our table for 35 minutes before the server took our order. We did wait 5 minutes for all our party to arrive and the server commenting must be women to a table of 3 guys and 5 women. Then refused to take drink orders. 35 minutes later we all ordered food. 1 hours after sitting at the table came back apparently the computer had crashed so we all had to reorder. 90 minutes after sitting at the table we were allowed to order drinks. I ordered 3 sides 1 being greens which looked like a left over potion. When I went to ask the server he automatically said he'd bring another which was charged for when the bill arrived. Even added a £30 service charge to the bill and commented to one of the party if they didn't pay the extra £29 for their meal they were overcharging the rest of us. Shocking service. Much better restaurants to go to in Cardiff. Especially Pasture. .

Absolutely amazing steak! Juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. Beautiful atmosphere. Staff was super friendly but reducing the stars for staff missing out on one crucial detail, checking if we had any food allergies. We weren't asked this before the order was taken (not an issue personally) but I did inform them at the end of my allergy. We were assured that none of what we had ordered contained allergens, but soon after the manager (I presume) had stepped in to double check. They apologised and went back in the kitchen to double check if our order contained anything I'd be unable to eat and yes, unfortunately the sauce I had chosen contained a concentrate which I couldn't have. I really really appreciate him helping me out, letting me know what I could have. Overall a good experience. Will be back here for the food.

Fantastic meal out with my family and my partners family. Really nice layout and design in the restaurant. We all had 3 courses. The steaks was all cooked how we liked it. The service was really quick but gave us time to talk and have a break in between our meals. All the staff was polite and helpful. There is nothing I would like them to improve on.
