Booked a table for 3 for 3:30PM months back, we got to the bar and told them we booked a table for 3, the 2 barmen told us to just go upstairs, which we did but there were no tables. They were absolutely useless and clueless. We went back and told them there’s no tables and another barman came along and apologised, he walked us to the table that should of been reserved for us but there was already people on it. He told us to come back to the bar to order drinks and our table we reserved should be empty and cleaned. We all had our drinks so went back to the table that was supposed to be cleaned for us to find different people sat on it. He then made us up 2 small tables together in the middle of the isle and apologised again and promised us when an appropriate table is available we can have that. We were just in the way and had to keep moving and getting up for people to pass. I’ve never reserved a table and not had a table reserved for us. Booking a table in this place is pointless, they can’t even put a simple reserve sign on a table. Not to mention how expensive the drinks are! We had a double gin that cost us £8.12 and we had the same drink before in Wetherspoons for £4! Bare this in mind if your just going for drinks! Crappest service...
Read moreNormally good service and pleasant, however their new app for the paddle flight promotion causes issues.
Having been told where a table was free, we were stood at the bar on a Friday night as it was busy, we tried ordering an flight paddle on the app - which required a table number (hence going to a table as we were told we couldn't order stood at the bar).
Having checked a table previously near the bar, and located the free table, there was no table number. When we queried this, the manageress (dyed red hair), told us "yeah but we know where you are". How??
We could put any table number in, as there was no table number on our table - why couldn't we do this at the bar then??
For anyone with a neurodiverse I could see how this situation could potentially cause unnecessary issues.
Needless to say we left frustrated after using a free coupon for a free pint. Marketing get the customers through the door, only for staff to then not make it clear how to order on the app without a table number.
The area manager (as I've seen visit previously and highlight warped menus out on display) needs to revise this and make table numbers clearer and then this venue is definitely...
Read moreIn May this year me and my wife were wandering around cardiff looking for a place to just sit for a while have a drink before our restaurant booking later on that evening. We appreciated that lockdown restrictions were still in place, we tried to get access to a few pubs but even after queuing once we got to the door we got “Sorry your not booked” really disappointed with the “(Owen Glyndwr)”especially… your customer service is absolutely shocking and your staff should be retrained!! In customer relations.
As we passed by the Glassworks, I just casually asked, do you have any seats available the young lad from this establishment went above and beyond trying to get us in, which he did, the service we received was outstanding the Drinks and Food service were second to none. I will be returning to the Glassworks any time I’m back in Cardiff and highly recommended to anyone looking for a great place to eat or drink with a company that...
